maidenless

Oh yes... deckbuilding, are we? Come to the NRDB for the DOTW, hmm? Of course you have. No shame in it. Unfortunately for you, however, you are deckless. Without guidance, without the strength of tags, and without an invitation to the Circuit Breaker... You are fated, it seems, to flatline in obscurity. Luckily for you, however, there is one shining ray of hope for even the deckless. Me. Take care to listen. Are you familiar with NPE? The golden light that gives life to you. You may also behold its golden rays pointing in a particular direction at times. That is the guidance of NPE. The path that a deckbuilder must travel. Mm, indeed. NPE's guidance holds the answers. It will lead you to the path you are meant to follow. Even if it leads you to your grave. NPE's guidance will reveal the path forward, most certainly. To the top cut, over on table 1. It's time you set off, I should think. To jinteki.net, on the web, where NPE would guide you. If you seek the playmat, deckless as you are.

Preface

Worlds was miserable (outside of meeting a handful of friends) and left me wondering if I actually want anything to do with netrunner going forward. Took a month to find the answer and here we are.

The RwR meta sucked a lot of fun out of me personally (mostly because shaper good and recursion grinding my gears among other things). That said, the TAI and especially the parhelion meta was some of the most fun I've had with this game. Laurazmari lives rent free in my head and I just want to play that deck all day. While rotation (and bellona ban) managed to delete the deck, I kept toying with this for months on end. Whenever I found myself not having fun with the decks, this was my fallback and it never once failed to be fun.

While I went through plenty of changes and meme influence spends (Big Deal), and adding a snek close to midnight and half awake, it sure was a sound decision. Anyway, I rezzed it a grand total of 0 times, not because I couldn't afford to, but because I was winning anyway.

Nothing is more fun than watching your opponent click for 4 and pass, or play some events thinking they'll clear the tags next turn, only to have their money taken away.

Runner making credits? Just say no. Runner installing cards? Just say no. Runner playing events? Just say 2c. Runner thinking they'll have a fun game today? Believe it or not, just say no.

While the deck is fun to play, I never bothered optimizing a lot, I simply grinded games because it was fun and kept winning and I didn't care enough to play it at some big event. However, I did ask a few people about any potential changes and was told to cut all the fun cards. Enter the fun police.

nofunallowed

In his defense though, he was right about a lot of it, I made the changes, played a few games and it just felt better.

Ordina, Definitive Edition

The changes I am on as of publishing this is:

-1 Hedge Fund -1 Snare ): -1 Cloud Eater -1 Attitude Adjustment -2 Behold +1 Seamless Launch +1 Pivot +1 Public Trail +1 Retribution +2 AMAZE Amusements

How to Play

The goal is to dig a nice little credit hole for the runner and make sure they never recover. A secondary goal is that the runner isn't allowed to have fun. Although, you'll have to be proactive achieve these. Keep jamming agendas, (don't jam the oracle, it's just when you want to oppo the runner for shits and giggles) keep pushing behind pings and/or one little sentry on an AMAZE. You go fast enough, and chip away at the runner's tempo with tags, you will eventually come out ahead.

I got asked quite a few times today why Azmari over R+. (While Ian advocates for R+ above and gave me some valid reasons (that I didn't understand)), my reasoning for Azmari over R+ is that all of y'all are too scared to facecheck ice and would rather sit back and do nothing. So I do not get R+ value while Azmari keeps making me credits. Additionally, I always feel like once the pings are used and a couple oppo's played as R+, the value of the ID diminishes quite a bit and I don't feel as rich as I do while playing azmari.

Sometimes an agenda is meant for you to give as a gift to the runner on a silver platter, just because it would enable you to push them into the credit hole you cooked for them, enabling often a crisp minus 4 to 8c for them on top of 4 tags.

Merry Taggings to you (but not your opponent).
