I'm not usually a big fan of online events, but this one felt special 💙.

Congrats to FireRL on fighting his way through the losers bracket and taking the crown 👑.

Shout out to EA Sports 🏅 for being just a great group of friends to play netrunner with, and who made an amazing showing at the tournament.

2nd at the 2024 Online Summer Showdown

Wins against Prav, 2 x R+, Ob, and AgInfusion.

Loss to FireRL's AgInfusion in the grand final.

Premise

Arissana is good against glacier, but bad against assets. 419 is good against assets, but terrible against glacier. It's easier to tune Arissana to deal with assets than it is to tune 419 to deal with glacier.

Bad publicity is crazy good for Arissana, in all matchups, because of our ability to do mid run installs.

Credit denial is also super powerful, because it can open up Kyuban abuse windows, and it gives us more start of turn triggers (because it extends the game).

Is this deck optimal?

Not quite. It's really very good though. I think it's probably 90-95% of the way there, but you still get some awkward draws sometimes (possibly that's just an Arissana thing). It is probably missing a conduit (but I kind of hate it).

Cards

It's easy to find the 6 inf for Mining Accident, but it's harder to find the slots, and harder still to find the clicks (and credits) to play it. So we have to tune our decklist to make it as smooth as possible to land a mining accident turn 1. Fortunately, the cards that do that (e.g. Dirty Laundry) all synergise really well with Arissana anyway.

Coalescence was a late, but genius, include. Think of it as Dirty Laundry number #4.

Physarum Entangler is cracked. It pairs really well with Slap Vandal.

Muse means that we can get away with only playing 1 x Physarum Entangler. I am 100% on board the Muse hype train. Being able to install programs from the heap at instant speed is crazy good. Initially I was playing 3x, but it can sometimes make finding Cleaver awkward, so I cut the 3rd for a 2nd SMC.

Sure Gamble can probably be cut for another Daily Casts or Coalescence.

Piloting Tips

• try and finish every turn in "gamble range" (5 credits or more, including any start of turn drip or imminent env testing payouts)
• don't play mining accident unless we are getting some other sort of value off the central run (e.g. laundry or Ika install)
• as a rule of thumb, we should hold off on installing Lilypad until we have some UAV money to pay for it
• same with Env Testing (although we can be more flexible here if there is a clear path to getting it to fire without UAV)

Otherwise, just draw + econ (like any other runner deck).

Against R+ (was super relevant, now completely irrelevant)--Cleaver and Hush are also both good for contesting an early rashida.

24.05 Banlist

This list is pretty tuned to beat asset R+, but I imagine that it will still be good in the 24.05 meta. The worst matchup has been rushy R+--where they can push fast in a remote and not lose off centrals--but that kind of rush NBN doesn't work without Bellona.

Seeing as we no longer have to worry about R+ or Tribuatory (!!!), both Hannah "Wheels" Pilintra and the 2nd Hush become "nice-to-have" (rather than necessities). This would open up 2 slots and 3 inf, which could be used for a 2nd Physarum Entangler (another "nice-to-have") or something more interesting.

Ideally, I'd like another central pressure card. Unfotunately, Alarm Clock is 4 inf.
