🔥 [Throwback] PD's Pantry (🥈 @ Cascadia)

FireRL (aka xFWx FIREBIRD) 1064

🔥 GFI PD 🔥

Fairly reg PD with Global Food Initiative.

Having never played Throwback (or even looked at it), I wanted to play a corp with a proactive game plan. I heard rumors that kill was a common theme of corps, so I thought playing reg PD would be funny/fun:

  • "PD!? What'd you put in PD?!"
  • Runners have become accustomed to not being able to steal HB's 3-pointer last click or without 2 credits (this paid off - multiple times players making the comment of not being able to steal an Ikawah Project and spending their 4th s accordingly)
  • Not knowing what kind of runners I'd see, it was reassuring knowing...
    • They have to steal 50% of my agendas to win*
    • I have a rapid proactive score wincon

🏆 PERFORMANCE:

The deck went undefeated (4-0) on the day, and got me out of a lot of wild situations:

R1 - W vs a very 'stabby' Hermes Leela with Trick Shots and Finalitys who opened with 1 Finality, bouncing my HQ ice. 2 install Cupellation. 3 snag an Anoetic Void from HQ. 4 triple access narrowly missing my 2x Project Vitruvius. Then followed it up by installing Hermes right away.

R3 - W vs a Leech Parasite Ari. I was able to get a Rashida Jaheem behind a Magnet and assemble the SkunkVoid behind an additional Bran 1.0 pretty quickly. Then, thanks to Seamless Launch, I was able to push agendas while simultaneously defending centrals.

R5 - W vs a terrifying Eater Jeitinho Hoshiko. After getting stabbed the first time, I attempted and failed to lure the Eater into a Hagen, so then I recurred a Void and slapped it down on R&D.

Top-8 cut, Single Elim

Semi Finals - W vs an Avgustina Ivanovskaya Noise that struggled vs the speed and recursion of a blitzy PD.

❤️ Cascadia is amazing, and now a staple netrunner event. The team that put it together and made it happen the last couple of years is phenomenal - kudos to them! If you didn't come, you missed out (until next year 😉)!
