Deck valid after Sixth Rotation |
This deck went 6-0, undefeated, at Belgium nats.
Ob is so flexible, you have so many tricks the runner has to worry about just by installing a Mavirus or rezzing a Border Control.
But this deck does not only abuse the flexibility/toolbox of Ob. We also abuse "Install and rez the card you found, ignoring credit costs." to its fullest potential.
Surveyor in Ob is perfect! It is so easy to stack ice when you don't have to pay the install cost. Turns out the answers against a big Surveyor (for example: Boomerang, Physarum Entangler, Hush etc.) are also the answers against Stavka + Hafrún.
Surveyor is the poster boy of the deck, but the 'every unrezzed ice can be a Stavka' thread is the true reason this deck is strong.
If the runner respects the Stavka rigshooting potential in every unrezzed ice. You have a big window in the midgame where you can score agenda's. It can take a while for the runner to find a solution. You use this window to go to match point, you can either finish the game with ZATO City Grid + end the run ice. Or you can do glacier things, bait the runner in some taxing servers and score out in a window where the runner doesn't have enough credits to contest.
But in some games, you just win because the runner has no respect and facechecks a Stavka at a bad time.
This plan feels super consistent against any runner without Simulchip. You always feel in control. And let's be honest, you also just farm Crim players with a rigshooting package in a tournament.
Against 2x or 3x Simulchip decks, it can become a battle of resources. You can pressure those simulchips and deny DJ Fenris Steve with Sadaka. (Sadaka gives an Ob trigger too 😉.)
Most of the time, Simulchip is paired with Propeller and Revolver. The counters on those icebreakers disappear fast with a lot of barriers + 6 big/mean sentry's. They don't have enough Simulchip to recharge breakers to get into servers + hold them in case of rigshooting scenario's.
This was my runner deck: Swift Lat
A huge thanks to all the TAI Breakers who helped make my meme borehole deck into a competitive list.
And of course a huge thank you to Thomas (Cluster Fox) for organizing this awesome tournament, I'm super excited to take over the roll of TO next year!

Cool deck, very interesting to see Sandstone and Stavka + Hafrún again. May i ask though, why you chose to play 7 agendas and not 8? Ffour 3 pointers and four 2 pointers seem to give you a much easier score pattern and luckily this isnt one of those decks that doesnt intent to score out. Congrats on your placement! |
