#4.2 Heap-to-HQ

Ventrikel 28

Work in progress. I'm planning on getting to know a deck well before participating in a tournament this Easter, so this is what I will be working on. I will consider changing Exile: Streethawk for Kate "Mac" McCaffrey: Digital Tinker or Chaos Theory: Wünderkind and revising accordingly.

Main economy comes from Oracle May and Motivation, and Aesop's Pawnshop. Drawing and cash flow makes me able to install repeatedly. Atman and Medium makes this deck dangerous quickly, I hope, and if needed later I will pawn Atman to install it at a different strength. Cerberus "Cuj.0" H3, Cerberus "Rex" H2 & Cerberus "Lady" H1 will be what I rely on to get through anything that can dodge my atman, and hopefully it will be rather cheap. Medium and Nerve Agent (though I will change the latter for HQ Interface if I buy that pack - although that isn't a program so it's harder to find, hmm...) gives me options for if they guard their central servers well. Datasucker backs up Atman and everything else.

I've considered Knight, Alpha and Omega, as well as Femme Fatale for my secondary icebreakers. Problem is: I can't have only AI. Plus the Cerberuses are somewhat cheap to use. If I had the influence, I'd slide in a Femme.

I got a rather limited range of cards so far. In fact I'm missing many of these, so keeping within core set/creation&control or any other sets that include the cards above would be great.

With the amount of recursion you have, Net Shield might be able to go for Parasite. How stable is the Oracle May econ? At only 2 a turn I feel you could do better, and free up some influence. What about Freelance Coding Contract? It plays really well with your ability.

Haven't tried Oracle May yet tbh. Gonna buy the pack in a few days. :) It should be stable draw + 2 but I got Aesop's Pawnshop and Daily Casts too to make up for it... But yeah, I think I could use more.

Freelance Coding Contract is useful - as I don't really want the programs in my grip anyway. I put Infiltration in cuz I had two spare slots and exposing is useful, but I'll easily trade it for better economy!

Yeah, I can switch Net Shield for Parasite but I need the influence too. I can take out one Oracle May and one Motivation if I stuff in a few coding contracts. But unless I take out the oracle completely I'll still need more influence. Maybe I have to find someting else instead of my Cerberuses. Something not-AI for lower than 6 influence. A Femme or two and back to the Alpha and Omega? Hm... :)

I really liked Alpha and Omega in your original deck, basically no one runs those. Sadly, Retrieval Run is pretty much the best way to get them into play for Exile. However, if you are going to with Freelances, RR opens the door for other expensive breakers (looking at you Torch, Garrote and Femme Fatale) and will really, really terrify most corp players. Plus, forcing the corp to ice archives is awesome as a shaper.

Yeah, I will have to get some retrieval runs then... Test Run + Scavenge is more rare to get because it's two cards, obviously. I would consider dumping (one?) Self-modifying Code for that since most programs are too expensive to tutor that way anyway. Interesting ideas for another revision. I will think further and change it when I have the time :)

With Retrieval Run, Scavenge, CC and Test Run you probably don't even need SMC. Chucking all your programs into your heap with Freelance gets you money, and they are easier to tutor from there plus you get draw from Exile. The only thing you are losing out on is a little more stack tutor and some ability to install during the run. For more and draw, I think that's a fair trade.

Made a revision. I think I'm going to invest in all of these packs this week - hopefully I can make a test run on wednesday (tried a deck based on core + c&c almost exclusively last week. Was good practise, but lacking many cards that I want). netrunnerdb.com
