Kill Bill (vol 3)

vdude 232

This is a PE kill deck I've been experimenting with that has had some good results. I'll be tweaking it for sure and appreciate feedback. It's inspired by my new favorite agenda—House of Knives. It brought me back to PE Jinteki.

The goal is to score House of Knives as soon as possible. When that's scored it is just about getting/making the opportunity to flatline the runner. This is hard of course, but even if I don't get the chance, having it on the table normally slows a runner enough to give me the chance to score agendas for the win. The Snares! and Shocks will also slow them down as they re-fill their hand.

Caprice is there to help in the remotes to try to score in those moments when the flatline is unlikely. The one Cerebral is there mostly as a bluff so I can install, advance, advance and scare the runner. Even if it is trashed they don't know I'm running only one copy.

Normally I put Hokusai Grids in the central servers, wherever they are more likely to run, it will definitely give runners a difficult decision if house of knives is scored.

The best way to make the flatline happen is to corporate troubleshoot a Komainu or lay down a Inazuma into Komainu. Corporate trouble shooting Inazuma is also an option. These normally go in a central, but if scoring out of remotes is necessary because a House of Knives wasn't scored, that can work.

It's a fun little combo to pull off.

"And then at that point Billy, your house started to shake, the heavens opened up ..." (Favorite quote from The Rock)

This wipes the hand out leaving the rest for House of Knives or Emp.

Throwing in two shocks and a Fetal AI makes Susanoo dangerous and potentially a way to flatline in archives.

Private Contracts are there to recover from the Account Siphons, a weakness with my porous ice. The other weakness is Parasite recursion, but thankfully you aren't too worried about shutting them out.

It has been fun to play and I'll be tweaking it for some time to see if my flatline percentage goes up.

Fetal AI does not do damage from Archives. Other than the 1 damage that comes from the ID of course, but that applies to any arbitrary agenda.

As for the deck, it is very similar to a deck I've been experimenting with. I also ran Shi.Kyu along with it to potentially beef up the damage from Philotic Entanglement. I ended up scrapping both the Shi.Kyu and the House of Knives because I always felt as though if the Philotic got sniped, the rest of the supporting cards ended up feeling like dead weight. The corporate troubleshooter is an interesting inclusion that helps to keep the House of Knives relevant.

A few suggestions:

Ichi is an excellent piece of ice in Jinteki. Disruptive, taxing, relatively resilient to parasites. Snowflake on the other hand seems very out of place in this list. Consider replacing the snowflakes for Ichi. This deck needs to set up quickly. Private contracts is just too slow. Consider Mushin No Shin instead. Cerebral Overwriter would probably be better as a Junebug. Especially if you end up using Mushin No Shin. Susanoo-No-Mikoto is rarely worth the 9 credits it costs to rez. It will just get made irrelevent by Knight, Emergency Shutdown, or Femme Fatale. All of which are quite common. Consider Tsurugi instead. Either go 3x Neural EMP, or go 0. A single Neural EMP is darn near worthless. You will almost always need 2, often 3 in order for them to be threatening. This deck has absolutely no tag punishment. It is also somewhat vulnerable to Account Siphon. Consider including Closed Accounts.

Thanks for the Fetal reminder. Yeah I have 't been impressed too much with Susanoo. I was thinking of switching to Shinobi, but Ichi sounds good. I've switched from Snowflake to Himatsu. I think that works to get some cheap ice out to slow down the runner. Private Contracts is there to recover from Siphons. I've learned that a runner who is good will always find a way into HQ, and the best defense to Siphon is a good recovery plan. House of Knives is the boss! I find it way more central to the deck than Philotic. It's practically game over if you score two. I use Cerebral because Dues X is played a lot in my meta and makes Junebug a dead bug. I am going to try -1 Private Contracts for +1 EMP to take your suggestion.
