While watching the top cut and making polite chatter, someone asked me what I was on. When I said Skorp, there was a collective, disgusted "Ugh", from almost the entire room, including the players who were actually playing. I'm not sorry.
This deck is the only thing I know how to play, and I didn't crawl out of a hole in the desert at significant expense to go to my first Nationals to play something good. On the night before the tournament, I attempted to play Mti, and became sad and confused by runners playing Inject or having breakers in their bin. This traumatic experience was all I needed to confirm my bias and not change my awful NPE ways.
I attempted to make up for my awfulness with joviality and yelling at my opponents, which led to some of the most fun I've ever had, playing against some very friendly people, including King of Swiss/Modded Alex. He was responsible for the one loss, which involved an Indexing seeing 5 agendas, and my foolishness in not RFGing Mimic and Rebirth when milled by MaxX. I finished the day at 17th out of 49, with this list going 4-1.
My favourite moments were Round 3 against Ben, where his Wu list played some cards and then lost some cards and then lost the game, with uproarious laughter all throughout, and the night before practice against Jaiden, where there were many lies about how many code gates this list has, even though he built the deck for me.
Anyway, Netrunner is cool and so is this deck, even if everyone hates me for it. At least Adelaide has a break from it while I attempt to remove Alice Springs from the game.
