I rejoined the QTM server and saw a conversation from a week ago about publishing lists we didn't take to events in the countdown to 2024. I thought it was cute, so here's something silly I was tinkering with back in October.
The general goal is pretty simple: play like a typical Sports deck, scoring out initially behind ice and then later from hand once the runner has secured the board. This takes a lot of inspiration from the Marsmetal lists of last year, but while I found Arella to be frustrating and a lackluster influence spend nowadays the idea of a backup plan involving large ice appealed. Archer really is no Tithonium though: 4 credits is a lot more than 0, and while I was cold on Arella it's very true that without her forfeiting an agenda is just too high a cost.
And unfortunately the other specifics of the list are pretty incoherant leading to an underwhelming test session with @Cobalt. This is generally archetypal of my deckbuilding style, where I'll find multiple ideas that interest me but smash them together instead of testing separately. In this case, the thesis statements I wanted to test were "a large ice like Archer could give an additional dimension to Sports" and "Next Activation Command could be a really potent tool in a world where Mulch is popular". I'd have been better off testing NAC Precision Design and Archer Sports individually.
Arissana and Lat are also rising in popularity, so the influence would definitely need to be reshuffled to fit additional Mavirii. It's a bit like getting cartoon children to eat their greens: Mav is necessary for the deck to work but not much fun to actually find room for.
