LeatherCoats 1.0

In this latest iteration of Whizzard: Master Gamer he is no longer a deadbeat but Gandalf on crack and an IV of Red Bull, with a big leather coat and a .44 revolver in his pocket. He'll spit in the eye of gods and demons alike if he thinks it needs to be done, and to hell with the consequences.

This deck is an adaptation of Spags L4J updated for the current meta and the release of The Underway. Its pretty solid with all the Anarch power programs, solid draw and econ engines and shaper bullshit for good measure. Gameplan is to setup quickly with Career Fair, Self-modifying Code & Street Peddler; Parasite spam all the ice in your way and Medium dig for the win, using the Whizzard: Master Gamer ability to deny the corp resources along the way (and it has the added bonus of acting like a quasi-Imp allowing you to see more cards with multiple Medium runs).

The major changes see both Net-Ready Eyes and Atman are dropped as Lotus Field has become less prevalent now and #Faust is a handy solution, freeing up a massive 7 influence. In addition Faust makes the dead draws from the Wyldside combo less dead and helps mitigate an incomplete rig to threaten remotes and/or facecheck protection.

The spare influence is spent on 2 Self-modifying Code because any Whizzard worth his salt needs to needs to be able conjure up programs at will, whilst the remaining influence went to the 3rd Career Fair with 11/12 targets to aim for. Feel free to experiment with Film Critic if Butchershop or RP/PE is heavy in your meta. Alternatives considered were double Atman (and no faust), double Desperado, or some high impact surprise cards like Sneakdoor Beta or Inside Job which can wreak havoc when played outside of Criminal. However, I feel that the consistency of Self-modifying Code, and the ability to threaten NEH with an early Clot edges it for me.

Next up the Draw package, which has been altered from Earthrise Hotel and Symmetrical Visage to our favourite 1950s clubbing housewife combo. I've Had Worse remains and doubles as damage protection whilst three Street Peddler have been added as cards 46-48. The ability to pull off any program mid-run acts as SMC 3,4,5 in this deck which mitigates the extra deck slots / lost cards on peddler.

The Econ is fairly similar with -1 Kati Jones replaced by +1 Stimhack for the synergy with Street Peddler and Self-modifying Code.

Overall nothing that ground-breaking, but in an asset heavy meta of RP, HB Glacier, NEH/HB FA this Whizzard looks set to stick around for a little while longer yet.
