This was the corp deck that helped me win the GLC Startup Circuit Opener (74 players). If you are interested in my Runner deck you can see it here.
This deck lost only once in the semi-finals to Postis. Below are some tips on how to play it.
High-Level Strategy
Lat: Ethical Freelancer is the best runner so I built this to beat Lat. I like PD because if you hold on to 6 cards then Lat's ability doesn't fire. The idea is to keep jamming in a remote and score as fast as you can. I beat Sasha in the finals in 5 turns. I explain card choices below.
Early Game
In your starting hand, you want at least once ice some econ and something to install. My starting play for most games was to play an econ card, install in a remote, and then ice the remote. This threat forces the corp to start interacting with you early. If they don't you are set up to either score with a seamless or just keep building up. If you are playing against an anarch I would suggest icing HQ instead as Chastushka early is pretty rough. If your starting hand has seamless, an agenda, and some ice. Try and jam and get that scored.
Mid Game
This is where you try and win the game. Your main priority is to find agendas and keep putting them in the remote. Add upgrades to the remote and defend centrals here and there with single pieces of ice. You want to be winning the game before turn 9 or 10. Beyond that, the runner is usually too strong and you are likely going to lose. Remember always be drawing and installing.
Late Game
If you happen to find yourself here you can try taxing the runner out by forcing them to come through the remote lots of times. You can also use Regolith Mining License to get some burst econ and then Big Deal out a Project Vacheron.
Card Choices
- Cyberdex Sandbox: Banned in the standard format for a reason. Positive tempo and good other ability make it a good card.
- Luminal Transubstantiation: This card allows you to set up your next scoring window. This was often my second agenda I scored and then installed a winning agenda in the remote that same turn. The tempo is just very good.
- Project Vacheron: Don't be afraid to advance this once with a seamless in hand. It's a very good card hence why it is also banned.
Project Vitruvius: I think this is just better than Offworld Office for a few reasons. It allows you to score without needing seamless. It allows you to score with seamless and have another click to install another agenda. It allows you to score with seamless and get an extra counter to help combat Sabotage decks or Stargate. The extra counter can also be used to bring back another seamless to double seamless something.
- Regolith Mining License: The question you might ask yourself is why this over Nico Campaign. The reason I like this is that I can control when I get the money. I love the feeling of installing and clicking this twice netting me 4 credits and allowing me to double-click the next turn and install an agenda with the last click. Nico, I have to install it and then wait till after the runner's turn to get any money from it. It's ok to over-install a Regolith if you have an agenda-scoring window. Also with Big Deal, Regolith can give you a way to get your money up pretty quickly.
- Spin Doctor: This is mostly used just to draw for agendas and to deal with pesky runners trashing your stuff.
- Big Deal: This is probably better used as another Red Level Clearance but it's also nice to close out games if you are rich.
- Fully Operational: I almost always drew first to try and get agendas to install. Then I took the money.
- Hedge Fund: Good burst econ.
- Red Level Clearance: I wish I had more of these. I think you should run 3x. I almost always draw first and then do something else. You want to see what you drew and then decide what is the best thing to do with the next action.
- Seamless Launch: Important to the PD strategy and scoring 4/2s
- Sprint: I would cut this for another RLC.
- Anoetic Void: I sometimes wish I had another but I think 1x is fine.
- Manegarm Skunkworks: 2x is feels pretty lean but it worked out for me.
- Tranquility Home Grid: This just fuels the speed so having this early is very nice. The trash cost is also just way to high for most runners to deal with.
- Gold Farmer: Broken ice that taxes the boat and runner credits. Banned in the standard format for a reason.
- Engram Flush: This is the best Deep Dive tech in the startup format. They have to break it. It's also just very taxing in general for the rez cost.
- Magnet: Against anarchs make sure to rez this when they have a Botulus on the board. Otherwise, it's just a good gear check ice.
- Ansel 1.0: This is a great tax on boat and sentry breakers. All of the subs seem important.
- Drafter: Runners have to break this ice. I love this ice on RD and HQ.
Why no NEXT Activation Command? I just found that I lost if I didn't go fast so I liked the strategy of jamming. NAC means I need 3 cards to score: NAC, Seamless, Agenda. I also just liked using the slot for more draw. I'm already on 12 ice so I can't cut anymore.
Special Thanks
I wanted to thank the GLC mods for running the tournament and all of my opponents for their kindness.
Great write up, much appreciated.
