First of all, I'd like to thank all the people who organized French Nats and to all my opponents. This was my first time playing in an event and my first time playing Standard in person, and I had an absolute blast!
This is my Runner decklist.
Decklist
The first deck I was planning on taking was actually an Ob deck. However, since I didn't have much practice with it, that it was my first tournament and that I was also playing Arissana as my Runner I thought that it might not be the best idea for my brain, so I then panicked back to PD.
This deck is a homemade mashup between two Bridgman decks, his APAC deck, his EMEA/Intercont deck and possibly some other deck that I can't remember. I switched up things to make it fit my playstyle more:
- 1x NGO Front: I added this to round out the econ package a bit more, as I felt that I was running a slightly more expensive ICE suite. In addition, I was hoping that it would allow to bait out some runs from the Runner if I single advanced it. I don't really remember if I got any good baits, but it definitely helped with my econ.
- Sentries: I added a second Ansel 1.0 as I like having more copies to find it earlier. I also wanted ICE that was a bit more taxing, but I also wanted more consistency and I couldn't have too many high cost ICE, that is also the reason I cut the M.I.C.. This also gave more Sentries, as if I went for two M.I.C., I would only have two Sentries in total.
- Code Gates: I ended up cutting a lot of the Code Gate ICE for slots, as I thought my other ICE would be more useful.
- Barriers: I only have 1 copy of Hagen as I thought that most of the other Barriers I had would perform better. I kept one copy for the occasion that I would draw it early, but it never did much in the mid to late game as Runners usually have a way to break it very cheaply. Border Control was an addition after I freed up some influence cutting the Anoetic Void. They also work well with Brân 1.0 and Gatekeeper (that was rezzed this turn) as they can be quite taxing.
- I really like Greasing the Palm, but I had to cut them for slots.
- Finally, the reason I cut Anoetic Void was that I didn't think I have enough experience with the card to make the correct calls in when to ETR and what cards to trash. For that reason, I thought it would be better and safer for me to use the influence in some other places.
Results
This deck was undefeated! Funnily, the opposite of my Runner deck (which I was more confident in). I didn't get to play Corp in round 3 as we went to time.
As a whole, I was quite proud of my Corp games, as I feel like I played pretty well.
Possible changes
- The first change I will make will be to cut the Biotic Labor and add a 3rd Seamless Launch. I only have three 2/3s, so I don't think I will have many windows to FA an agenda like that. It also cost a lost of credits, and I feel like it would be better to use those credits to defend the remote for one extra turn to seamless the agenda out. In all the games, I never found a moment where having a Biotic Labor was better than a Seamless Launch I did play the Biotic twice, in round 1 and 2 where I used it in the last turn to score the unadvanced Ikawah Project with the help of a Seamless. I could have done the same with 2 Seamless and have to worry a bit less about my credits.
- Potentially adding an M.I.C. or 2 back into the deck, as they can also be quite taxing and synergise well with Manegarm Skunkworks.
- Adding a 3rd copy of Manegarm Skunkworks could be a good addition as getting it early is very helpful and having less worries if one gets trashed would be a great advantage.
If you read this far, thank you very much! This is my first time posting decks. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
Congrats on the 3-0!!! Defo slotting the 3rd seamless is a good idea.
