Theorycrafting to Beat Nanifusion

InfiniteNutshell 856

Threw this list together to make a point. It's probably not actually good at what it's trying to do, and it's definitely not good in the actual field where you need to contend with other archetypes. But that's just because I'm not a competitive deckbuilder and have played very little Esa to begin with.

The idea here is to attack the Nanisivik Grid lock from all angles. They don't want to use AgInfusion's ability except to protect the Nanis from a Pinhole? Fine, run centrals for WAKE Implant charges or to Katorga Breakout your events back, and then get rid of their ice with En Passant so they have less ability to bump you to begin with. They took the bait and used up their AgInfusion activation? Get rid of the ice they sent you into with Hippo, and then shut down the remote with Light the Fire!.

Here is an incomplete list of things worth considering that I didn't include in this list:

  • More econ of course
  • Lucky Charm
  • Caldera
  • District 99
  • More sabotage effects
  • Better breakers for big ice

I'd suggest looking into alternatives to MKUltra. It's quite costly against all common Aginfusion sentries (Bathyonymous, Anemone, Anansi). You also have 3x Katorga Breakout so I think it's okay if your killer is not self-recurring.

Forged Activation Order is excellent, for this matchup especially I'd run more. It defangs Anemone, which removes the only way most Aginfusion decks can get a card into archives during a run on a Nani server. Aside from that, you "just" need to run on Archives to disable Nani for the rest of the turn at least.

3x LTF seems like a lot. You only have 1 FAO and 3 En Passants to remove unrezzed ice, and if there's any unrezzed ice on the remote, Aginfusion can bounce your LTF run harmlessly to another server. It also helps you not at all on Archives, where I think Nani is the most dangerous.
