GLC Modded: Rime Time (3-1)

branimated 601

This is the Corp deck I played for three rounds of the GLC Modded: May Edition tournament, and one round of the June edition.

Let's be frank - Corps have to walk uphill in the snow both ways to win a game in Modded. The most likely outcome for playing a Corp game is getting Stargated every turn while Kati Jones ticks up while you try to scrape together enough credits to score your first agenda. It's rough.

That said, this list acquitted itself honorably. The brainchild of @doomrat, who gave me this list after an hour or so of theorycrafting, and which I only tweaked lightly, it packs a sensible gameplan and about as much unfairness as you can manage in this cardpool.

The plan is to install and rez cheap taxing ice on your servers, buying enough time for you to begin opening scoring windows with remote bait (shout out to Reversed Accounts). Bellona is far and away the most powerful card in the deck, and it's not unreasonable to plan to score two of them, since the defensive ability on the agenda outclasses all defensive upgrades except for Ash, which we play two of.

Two DRM enables speedy Bellona deployment, which is critical, because you must pounce on the Runner in between Kati swings. Remastered Edition is an excellent second score, because it sets you up to FA a Beale to get to 7, which is a good way to close out a game.

The list is playing 3x Rime because it's better than Pop-up in GameNET, and stacking them actually isn't the worst. It's free and gives you a credit swing on each central run (of which there will be many). If you're unconvinced, take a look at the ice available to Modded Corps. I'll wait :)

Crisium Grid and Archived Memories are on Stargate mitigation duty. It's not enough, but it's way better than nothing. Also, Crisium in the remote stuffs Boomerang recursion, which is relevant in Modded.

If you're heading into the June edition of GLC Modded and want to play NBN, play this deck. Understand that you have to carefully manage your money and consciously set up scoring windows, and remember that the Runner must have 5 credits to steal a Bellona :)

Props to @dirjel for running a great series of events, and to all of my opponents, who were lovely and kind. ABR.
