An exercise in deck construction around:

  • Making good use of > 1 programs.
  • Using Kit's ability mainly as an econ boost.
  • Using Hyperdriver's click advantage FTW.
  • Building toward late-game inevitability.

The Game Plan

Early Game:

  • This is not a "speed" Kit variant. Get your Magnum Opus + Yog.0 out with a tutor for Eater if you need the escape hatch.
  • Hyperdriver is used early for the draw, or for an econ injection.

  • Tinkering is your surprise access card.

Building Phase:

  • Get the and Leprechauns to support your rig.
  • Gradually build the Yog.0's strength as the corp rezzes ice that requires it (in the mean time Eatering to avoid ill ice-effects.
  • Slow the corp down with Crescentus.

End Game:

Eater in Kit? With Yog.0? WTF? Yog.0 Kit has a difficult issue. It discourages the corp from rezzing ice until they have two layers. At that point, you need your breaker for the second layer. This behavior has a number of down-sides for us: 1. it makes using Paintbrush more difficult later as less ice is rezzed, and 2. it gives us accesses (good), but doesn't particularly stress the corp's econ, which accelerates them into the later game when they will have more layers of ice. Eater enables you to safely run through deep servers, costing the corp money, and enabling Crescentus + Paintbrush plays.

The Programs

Notable Includes

  • Escher: Great with the game-plan of making it into R&D cheaply with Yog.0. Synergizes with Eater.
  • Code Siphon: I've wanted to make a deck this works with for a long time. Finally, with eater, and the need to get our Keyhole + Paintbrush, it has a spot.
  • Femme Fatale + Test Run: The Test Runs are necessary for Magnum Opus consistency. They are used with Crescentus to do econ denial later, and with Femme Fatale to guarantee access when required.
  • The Personal Touch. Yeah, it isn't that great. However, it is a large part of the economic plan of the deck (Yog.0 it all away!). Dinosaurus is the other option, obviously, but without Scavenges, it isn't really a good option (it adds yet another combo with a strict sequencing requirement).

How this flat-out dies

I'm not saying this is a perfect deck. It is a fun deck that is reasonably good. It has huge difficulties against

  • Big-ice Blue Sun. If the corp can get outside of Yog.0 range (with between 5 and 6 strength), and Escher and Eater + Crescentus can't solve the problem, we're hosed.
  • Batty. Non-interact-able program destruction that kills a Yog.0 with The Personal Touchs on it hurts. A lot.
  • Wraparound. Screw that card. At least no-one plays it ;-)
  • Rush decks. Yeah, the breaker suite is not cheap.

Variants

A serious variant has to include 1 Inti for Wraparound.

Draw/recursion alternatives include -1 Same Old Thing, -1 Levy AR Lab Access, +1 Earthrise Hotel, +1 Tinkering.

I'd like to find room for Modded, but space is tight, and the prominence of tutors makes it less useful.
