Run Four Trick Shots: 1st at November AMT

When you think about it, Buffer Drive is just any other card in your deck.

A slightly updated version of my Worlds Kit, with a few minor changes:

I wrote a bit on it in the last list, but Buffer Drive is for a few things:

  • It's a 4th Compile for an extra credit bumping the breaker to the top instead of the bottom.
  • It's a 4th Spark of Inspiration for an extra click and 3 credits.
  • It's a 4th copy of any other card in your deck.
  • [NEW] With Personal Evolution being run a lot it's very funny to drop this on them to increase the longevity of your deck by a ton. Also can immediately bottom a breaker that's hit by damage to be sparked later. Doesn't help as much into actual kill lines though.

In the finals I got to Buffer Drive a Trick Shot back to hand, which was then drawn with Aniccam and used to make the winning run on RND, so that's pretty cool I guess.

Ended up going 3-0, winning vs Ob, Azmari, and Jinteki: Personal Evolution, IDing the last possible swiss game I would've had with it. @The King was running Ag, and I don't know how good the matchup is. I suspect Inversificator helps since they can't bounce you off the inner ice of a double iced server, but I'm not entirely sure about it either. You definitely have time to get your entire breaker suite up though.

On Inversificator

I love this breaker. It's sooooo good with Kit and allows for some truly egregious stuff. If it's your first sparked breaker, you get to ensure you can access any double-iced server once per turn. Once you're fully set up, you can swap expensive ice to HQ and focus hard on the RND lock. It also gives you a 2/3 chance instead of a 1/2 chance of your first sparked breaker allowing you to contest the board.

The big issue that I have with it is that your setup becomes way more complex. Once you've either sparked or drawn your first breaker, you have to think a lot about how your board is going to be setup for the majority of the game. Odds are you're not sparking all three of your breakers until later on, so you've got to make sure that you can deal with whatever one or two breakers flip on the table.

In a lot of matchups, drawing Inversificator and holding it in hand is your best bet so you can play the list like its a normal Lobi Orca list. In fact, this deck would probably be better overall by simply dropping the Inversificator. I'm keeping it for myself tho :).

A huge shoutout to everyone I played against at the AMT, and a big thanks to everyone who made it possible. I try to make as many of these as I can because they're always a blast, and regardless of performance I get to meet new people and have a ton of fun messing around with some jank.

Speaking of jank, another big shoutout to my team Janktinho, who helped me polish this up for the tournament. Happy to show Twinning Kit off with a better performance compared to Worlds.
