Ghost in the Stealth

Shisen 37

This is my current Kate stealth deck. I've played around with stealth decks for a while now and also played them on tournaments but this seems to be the best one so far.

The normal problem of stealth decks is mainly the time you need for the whole set-up. With this in mind I tried to cut out everything unnecessary and included only cards which are needed imo. If you get used to playing with this deck you should be able to build up the whole rig rather fast. Most of the time you won't even need everything on the field and that's why playing Kate together with the typical shaper shenanigans is the best way to put pressure on the corp in an early stage. If you keep the pressure up early and set up your rig, mid and late-game should be a piece of cake as stealth breaker rip through most servers rather easily or at least way easier than normal breaker.

Why I didn't include...

  • Plascrete: I played with it for a long time but if you take care not to run last click if there are Snares in the corp deck, you should be fine; early Opus if you suspect Sea Source, Punitive or Midseason
  • Test Run: Only useful if you want to dig for an expensive breaker; in Kate SMC+Clone Chip should be enough and less expensive
  • R&D Interface: Could be an option but I personally prefer the cheaper and more controlled Maker's Eye, especially in combination with Indexing
  • Replicator: This is a card I've played a long time in the previous versions of my stealth deck; it's a nice card but I played it in 1 out of 7 games maybe, that's why I had to cut it

Now to the cards I'm using atm:

Diesel and Quality Time for times you need to dig for something. Doesn't happen too often. Indexing because it's awesome! Especially with Maker's Eye. Won me lots of games and also helps identifying the course the corp is taking. Legwork in order to have some pressure on HQ. If the corp sees a legwork he'll think twice about leaving HQ relatively open and only icing R&D. Net Celebrity is a card that could be replaced. I mostly play it to counter other currents, especially the hella annoying ELP. But it'll probably be cut in future changes. Scavenge is only used to get back the counters on your dog if you can't bring up a new one with SMC or Clone Chip. Stimhack is a rather new card in this deck but I like it so far and it really speeds up the set-up together with SMC and CC. Astrolabe is THE console for this deck! It's cheap and it adds some drawing power to the deck. Combined with + = awesome! Dyson Mem Chip and Underworld Contact will be your economy together with Sure Gamble. You won't need more and even if there is need for money, Magnum Opus saves the day. This deck is cheap so if you handle your economy right you shouldn't get into a pinch. And of course, every Dyson Mem Chip gives you another . In 90% of my games, I'm set up with 1 Astrolabe, 1 Dyson Mem Chip and 1-2 Underworld Contact. Ghost Runner may be the most useful card in this deck, it changes the flow of the game completely and I think Stealth decks would be unplayable without this card (at least in competitive matches) + good for stealing NAPD's if needed. Hades Shard is another card which I included in the past few days. With this card the corp can no longer leave agendas in his Archives (even with Jackson installed). Now to the"Lady". I played with BlacKat in past tournaments but after testing out the dog and using the influence in other ways (3 for Kat + 6-9 for the Generator) I've come to prefer this breaker suite. Dagger and Refractor are super efficient and deal with everything that's not a barrier. As a plan b for certain situations I've also included a Deus X. Wouldn't like to play against PE without one copy of DX in my deck.

The rest is rather self-explanatory but if you've got any questions or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment :) Cheers~

Awesome deck. Seen it in action and it generates a ton of pressure and messes up your ICE placement, since you're trying to use the same type of ICE multiple times in one server in order to try and tax the sick stealth econ. I have a couple of questions though regarding some of the card choices you made. Why Net Celeb? While it's great to counter currents, one copy oglf this will lack consistency and the card itself won't generate stealth sadly. Why not include a second Diesel, Quality Time or even more Multi-Access? On that note I see two more cards I would personally replace: Stimhack and Hades. While Hades is undoubtedly a sick motherfucker, there is no real mill in the deck to justify it's use other than just hoping for a lazy agenda-dump/Jackson thing. Same with stim. You just have a ton of econ I 'don't know if Stimhack is neccessary and you might want to include something different with two more influence. Other than that this deck wrecks the corp big time. Definitely the fastest stealth-deck around.

thanks for the comment :) now to answer your questions:

I think you're right about Net Celeb. Playing only one copy makes it more or less useless as a counter. It's okay-ish in regard of its effect and cost but there are better cards. gonna exchange it in near future. Stimhack is a card I want to test more in the next few games. It's meant for situations in which you don't want to bring out the Mopus, be it because of MU or other reasons. One brain dmg is worth the extra credits if it speeds up your game or if it helps getting into a glaciered server. You also need less clicks to get the boost and with SMC and Clone Chip around there are plenty of options to use the extra creds to the fullest. I'll see if it's a good choice in the next few games. Mopus isn't meant to be played asap in this deck, this would just slow everything down (ofc only if you use SMC for it). I mostly play Mopus after drawing into it or when I see traces coming at me, in all other situations I try to put out my SMC and Clone Chip and pressure from the get go. That's where Stimhack comes in more handy. With Hades Shard it's kinda the same situation as with Net Celeb, even though I consider it to be slightly more useful. I've seen a lot of games in which the corp tried to dump some agendas back into R&D. It's true that it isn't a necessity for the deck. Probably exchanging both HS and NC.

Then again, thanks for the advices and appreciation!
