Ayla may be a "worse" Andromeda: Dispossessed Ristie in some ways, but the NVRAM ability remains ridiculously powerful. You can all but guarantee a turn one or two Magnum Opus, playing extremely well with the zero-MU e3 Feedback Implants+Overmind combo enabled by Dhegdheer.

With sufficient search and recovery power, as uniquely afforded to Shaper, you set up a lean and mean drilling machine with what should theoretically be startling speed. Test Run and Self-modifying Code draws you right into the pieces you need.

Of course, Ayla's Overmind's a hungry little fella, and Magnum Opus alone may yet still take a while to satiate its appetite. Using the newly un-MWL'd Prepaid VoicePAD and cycling expended Overminds through Aesop's Pawnshop ought to mitigate the associated expenses.

All this -- all of this -- just to let you burn through a fistful of Deep Data Minings and The Maker's Eyes. Drill deep -- all the way to the core.

Tech cards:

  • Brain Chip, in case Skorpios or others blow the Dhegdheers out from under you.
  • Aaron Marrón because fuck yellow.
  • The Shadow Net because, seriously, fuck yellow, and also to let you duck the occasional zero or negative-point agendas.
  • Film Critic because Jinteki agendas can hurt you, the slimy gits.
  • Maxwell James because they won't cover HQ nearly as well as they'll cover R&D against your deck, and deactivating big and expensive chunks of ice for a bargain is great. Also lets you fuck yellow with a link boost.

Love the yellow hate <3

Maxwell James only works on remote servers, so it's not going to help with a deep dig, though I guess it may help with occasional remote busting.

@Quarg Ah, shit, forgot about that. Skimmed over the text after I saw "derez" and "run HQ." I think I was originally thinking Political Operative for the anti-asset -- which does, in fact, slip right into its place, come to think of it...

I really like the deck idea and had some fun matchups with it! Did you consider running Scavenges instead of the Test Runs? They'd enable installing an Opus early, when there is no Dhegdheer available and then be put on it when you draw into one later? They also turn late SMCs virtually into Clone Chips and could efficiently help refresh used Overminds. Do you think that they might be slowing the game plan down too much?

@joni911 Scavenge didn't occur to me, actually! You might be right about them replacing Test Runs.

My main concern, then: is it worth lowering the odds for that turn 1/2 Magnum Opus for more mid-game flexibility? My instincts say it's a decent idea, since Ayla's ability's already So Damn Good at securing the puzzle pieces early on.

@joni911 From a few dozen opening-hand simulations, I think I'm forced to keep the Test Runs over Scavenge. But I'll keep the suggestion in mind -- there's definitely a place for the both of them, especially if it turns out I need to recover the influences spent on Clone Chip.

I tested it with the Scavenges and had a couple of successfull matchups. I didn't think there was too much of a tempo loss at all. Maybe I got lucky draws :) Again, this is a very fun deck to play with! You forgot to mention in the description what a satisfying feeling it is, installing a Brain Chip in the late game, slamming an Overmind with 10 fresh new counters onto your Dhegdheer ^^
