[Startup] Reality Plus - Tempo Tags

Bone.Golem 46

The goal of this deck is to delay/block the Runner with tags, program destruction and credit drain while dumping assets/agendas without advancement counters in your remote, forcing the runner to guess and getting your 4/2s and 4/3s out with Seamless Launch.

I've made a conscious decision to stray away from Backroom Machinations since I think it's a lot better with 5/3s and if you're running 5/3s you may as well run Punitive Counterstrike and if you're running Punitive Counterstrike you should probably rather play GameNET: Where Dreams are Real.

So far it's been reasonably good on jnet, got a >50% winrate over ~20 games and the games all have been a lot of fun. Lots of close calls and fast paced games.

Assets:

Chekist Scion: Jam this in your remote either with 0 or 1 advancement counters and force the runner to check. If you think the runner is hesitant to run your remote you may as well try playing it isolated and see if he gets curious enough to run it.

Drago Ivanov: Advance + advance + Retribution.

Regolith Mining License: Put it in your remote, get money or force a run.

Operations:

Predictive Planogram: I mostly play this for credits, if you're fluent go for the cards as we want to go fast. Don't wait to play this until the runner is tagged.

Psychographics: We run one copy in case the Runner goes for Tag Me.

Public Trail: Play this and follow up with Retribution.

Retribution: Go for their Fracter or Decoder in order to shut them out from your remote which should be guarded by either Ping or Afshar (or both).

Seamless Launch: We're running three copies in order to get Artificial Cryptocrash and Vulnerability Audit out. There's also a niche case where we can score out Project Beale with two Seamless Launch for three points. We can also use this with Tomorrow's Headline in order to combine it with Retribution.

Ice:

Gold Farmer: This is a value include, simply to good to pass on. Put this in front of R&D and HQ.

Ping: Our GOAT ice, pays for itself after rezzing, protects the remote before the Runner has their fracter out (and after the fracter is destroyed). This one shouldn't go in front of your centrals if you can help it.

Afshar: If I had to remove a card it would be this one, may want to replace it with Enigma. Afshar is pretty good though - the obvious use is to put it in front of HQ, but it can also protect the remote.

Funhouse: Another key include. This will usually completely shut down runs on centrals without multi-access and it can be also put in front of your remote. Particularly deadly in combination with F2P if you put Funhouse right in front of it - the Runner will have to use his Killer to break F2P if he had to pass Funhouse first. The optimal ice sequence for your remote looks something like this (from outermost to innermost): Funhouse -> F2P -> Ping. Move the Fracter to the Runner's grip with F2P so he can't break Ping.

F2P: See above - even outside of its combo use F2P is a great value include for defending HQ/RND.

Playstyle:

Go as fast as possible and choose cards instead of credits from your NBN: Reality Plus ability and Predictive Planogram when you can afford to. One ice for central defense will have to suffice for the start, after that begin working on setting up your remote and jam assets and agendas. Keep the Runner guessing and don't be afraid of risky plays, they'll often times respect potential tag threats especially if they've seen Retribution.

Potential changes:

As noted above, the two Afshar may be replaced with Enigma. The influence gained could be used on Archived Memories, which is especially nice in this deck since we have a lot of situationally useful cards we may want to get back from Archives.

Snare! seems like something you may want to consider in this deck for the tag bonus, but I've tried it and it just doesn't work that well - people don't run HQ enough, we're too strapped for cash to afford it and the NBN: Reality Plus ability isn't a big enough incentive to splash this much influence.
