Anteater [33rd @ EMEA]

This was the Norwich meta's deck going into EMEA, Cobrabubbles and I built it together and Fridan pilotted it best and just missed the cut.

You play the game plan, Sabotage 20, take a couple pokes on remotes and HQ, win the game turn 10. It's strong, it's fun, I recommend this deck to everyone!

Description

The big question around Esâ was the breaker suite and the answer we came to was... it isn't that important.

Esâ doesn't make that many runs during a game so the 3-Bs (Boomerang, Bankhar, Botulus) get in you in everywhere you need to go, throughout the tournament we all surprised corps with the ability to contest remotes in the early to mid game without any breakers.

But there are some games where the corp ices up hard and you need an answer...

This breaker suite costs 3 credits to install. Get them down the turn you see them so you don't risk losing them to damage. It took a while but we are very very happy with this breaker suite.

None of this would be possible would be possible without the new star of this deck Strike Fund! With Ghosttongue it plays for 0 credits and means we can remove Creative Commission freeing up 6 inf.

The other notable difference between this deck and previous Esâ lists is that we cut out all of the cute cards, no Labor Rights, no Legwork, no Hush, no Light the Fire!

Just three copies of every good card, play all of them, run archives win the game.

Matchups

HB - PD is a high skill matchup, you need to check archives earlier and understand all your tricks for getting through ICE. Other HB is fine, no troubles there.

Jinteki - I lost twice to A Teia during the tournament because of my Anansi fear, you don't need Bankhar here just use your face to break and you should be okay.

NBN - Deck them, if they get to 5 points then go tag me and steal 12 points from Archives. Ez.

Weyland - You have good matchups against all of the Ob decks. Outfit with triple iced servers requires a lot of patience and all of your toolbox. Sit back, sabotage and wait until they have 5 agendas in hand or just played an audacity to deal immense damage. Play around Envelopment!

Understanding the matchups ended up being a much bigger part of this deck than we anticipated, I wish I had practiced more against A Teia and PD.

Ian

We hosted a big Ian party in Havvy's honour with pizza and people playing in almost every room of the house, online tournaments shouldn't stop you hanging with your mates which is what netrunner is about.

This deck performed great for me and I think it is the best version of Esa right now. If I was playing again tomorrow I'd swap No Free Lunch for Pinhole, even though NFL has the added benefit of not hanging out in hand. I had one game against NEH kill where I could have won without NFL if I'd remembered to not die and a loss vs Keeling Ag which pinhole might have bought some time for.

Massive gratitude to you guys for putting this together and everyone in Norwich House for cheering me on.
