Librarians do it quietly v0.3

Shiiuga 1266

Based on the previous version of this deck, obviously. Wholesale changes abound based partially on a couple of games and partially on the solid advice of my pal Martin! of the Ice Analyzer podcast. The idea is still to install Overmind on a London Library using an Autoscripter to use no clicks, then run as needed and take it off again.

Overmind is an absolute star in this deck. With the potential for 8 tokens (or 14 if you install 2) you can walk through anything bar a Swordsman, which you can Femme easily enough. It's the one situation I'd consider a perma-Femme for.

Autoscripter, Replicator and LLDS Processor get a stand out mention too, though. An early Replicator combined with Hayley's ability draws like a dream. Installing an Akamatsu Mem Chip or an LLDS, then drawing up another one and installing that, then drawing up a third is a click to behold. 5 actions for one click! In 2 games I was down to 21 cards in my deck when the corp was on 35-36. Increases the draw quality of ProCo no end, too.

The key to this deck is the surprise factor, I think. Once you've played it once it's a bit easier to counter, but that first time it blitzes people who think their servers are safe. It sets up so quickly and once you have an Overmind out you can walk in to pretty much anywhere before they can get set up enough to do anything about it. A double R&D Interface install then run won me a game. The corp never saw it coming.

It's a hell of a lot of fun to pilot and I think the surprise factor is enough to win it a chunk of games. I'll keep tinkering in the meantime.

Events

Game Day and Scavenge are gone. You don't need the draw that GD brings, and all of the programmes that would otherwise benefit from scavenging are gone. There's no point in hard installing a Femme Fatale and scavenging when you can get it down for no clicks on a new target every turn, you know? You only need it every now and then anyway.

Hardware

In v0.2 the Akamatsu Mem Chips were dropped for Dyson Mem Chips in order to fuel Underworld Contact, but the whole thing proved to be too expensive for the return, so we are backamatsu.

e3 Feedback Implants isn't as important in the early game when you'll undoubtedly have enough Overmind tokens to break any ice you come across, and with the speed that this deck draws you don't need to worry about getting it out until later or at all depending on your opponent, so I dropped a copy.

The gameplan dies if all Overminds end up in the bin, so I've put 2 Clone Chips in to bring them back at a pinch.

Added an HQ Interface to give a bit more lock on HQ if you think that's where the points are.

I know I talked a big game about not needing Plascrete Carapace in the first version of this, but with that and the extra hand size you can steal with impunity from double Punitive, unless you stole a Govt Takeover, in which case you're screwed if you let it go to the Corp's turn anyway.

Resource

Public Sympathy is gone. 7 hand size is enough.

2x Armitage Codebusting, 3x Daily Casts and an Aesop's Pawnshop to bin them off for an extra buck drive the econ, You can even sell your Replicator once your rig is out. Professional Contacts replaces the Magnum Opus for click economy. The draw really made a difference, and you can always Armitage if you really need the creds.

Programs

Cerberus "Lady" H1 is useful to keep in hand in case you suspect a Curtain Wall (ie, you are playing Blue Sun), especially when it's boosted by the LLDS Processors. Femme Fatale is an all purpose hitter. Obviously nails Tollbooth pretty well, and does a nice enough job on bigger barriers if Cerberus "Lady" H1 is MIA. I generally think it's a good idea to keep it a secret unless you absolutely need to break one of the big hitters, as the Corp might get wise.

You're spending a lot of influence on multiple redundant pieces of hardware - have you considered Tyson Observatory? It would let you pull your Replicator, the first LLDS, Box-E, Autoscripter, and E3 when you need them. You could drop an AS and two Box-Es (and 2 Replicators), freeing up 5 inf and 2 card slots. I'd do the above, plus drop a Femme and add two Suppliers. In this deck, Test Run might be better than Clone Chip, since you can pull the Overmind back into your hand next turn instead of having it hard installed.

@hbarsquared: I really like Tyson Observatory in this deck also. Just seems like it fits better, especially since you really only need one of some these hardware.

@Shiiuga: I know ProCon is good, but I'm such a big fan of the Baby because it's cheaper by a lot. How often are you clicking for ProCon more than once each turn?

I really like this deck idea, totally going to be thinking of something like this. Definitely inspiration for a deck. Thank you good sir/ma'am

With only 6 programs how much mileage do you get out of Autoscripter?

@hbarsquared I think you might be right about Tyson Observatory. I've put it in and will see how it does. I'm reluctant to drop the second Autoscripter in case the first gets trashed by an unlucky bounce. Happened in one game and being able to install a second right away mitigated the tempo hit somewhat.

The Supplier is an interesting idea. I've put one in with the influence regained from the extra Box-Es. Another card to sell to Aesop as well!

I think you're dead right about Test Run.

@UminWolf ProCo use depends on how early it comes out. If you get it by turn 3 or 4 you will use it a lot to draw the rest of the elements out. If it comes out much later you're probably already well set up and don't need to worry so much about econ or drawing, so it might not be so useful. It's pulled some strong duty in the two games it has come out early enough, though. It's really good at refilling your hand after you install 50,000 things with 2 clicks, too, so I prefer it to the wee'un in that sense.

@Yubinshan Autoscripter is an essential card. Every turn you want to run you are installing a program on to London Library. A run turn with a full rig usually looks like this:

Click 1: Install Overmind on London Library, possibly trigger Hayley's ability if you need a Femme down too. Regain the click from Autoscripter. Click 1 (Reprise): Run a server/econ depending on if you need a bit more moolah first. Click 2: Run a server Click 3: Deal with any tags, draw some cards or get some cash depending on what you need for next turn. Click 4: Bring Overmind back to hand, or if you feel like you can afford to let it trash, repeat Click 3.

I'd say that if it's out early enough and you're putting enough pressure on that Autoscripter saves you 10+ clicks a game. The deck just wouldn't keep up without it, you need that extra click back if you want to run a couple of times a turn.

The deck thrives on getting the most out of clicks. 5 effective actions from a click on a set up turn is absurd, and having one or two free actions before you even start your turn is vital.

Wondering if Doppelganger might be worth testing as well to get even more click efficiency in there. I just wonder if the hand size drop will have too much of a detrimental effect.
