Thank You,Evil Corp,

EZ2GO 1

Well... I made another "unique" deck from my limited card pool (2core + Genesis Cycle). Thanks to one friend, I got some interesting identities to mess around with. One of them was this Ken "Express" Tenma: Disappeared Clone guy. It is hard to think something that could work in current Netrunner meta while having access only to Genesis Cycle. This is some experiment I made. It worked quite well against my few opponents (brother and girlfriend who are also noobs and use same card pool as I do lol). Nothing interesting to be honest. I am posting this deck to get some (negative/positive) feedback, so I could get some ideas how to make the best use of my poor card pool without blindly copy+paste someones else deck.

Concept of this deck? I always wanted to make "Thank You,Corp" deck.

How it works? ☻I. Corp sponsoring the runner? Yes. That's right! Let corp assist you on your quest! Wanna make a run on corps sweet server but don't have enough ? Ask corp to sponsor your assault with Social Engineering. If they don't want to sponsor your assault, encourage them to do that anyway with Forged Activation Orders + Cortez Chip. How fun is that? Wanna make them rage? Use Emergency Shutdown .

☻II. ICE ICE.. wait what ICE? Wreck their defence even more with Crescentus and Kraken . Inside Job = jump annoying ices and save some . Eat their defence with Parasite. Once again Emergency Shutdown, Forged Activation Orders as hard as you Ken (Get it)?

☻III. Its all about being fast, baby Doppelgänger = clickless run each turn. Special Order = Get everything you need on the right time. Mr. Li = You need to draw cards, but you don't need to draw tons of useless cards. Mr Li I choose you! Quality will beat the numbers.

☻IV.Getting money without corps sponsorship Make some either with hard work while Armitage Codebusting or just simply do a nasty Bank Job. If you see that corp doing fine with their money suck them dry with Account Siphon (It sounds so wrong..) Some Compromised Employee might also help you on your quest.

So far I loved this deck but I am open to your criticism. Keep in mind I am poor guy with limited resources.

I am still not sure if I should keep parasite, instead I am thinking about swaping it to data sucker since I would pump it fast with freed Doppelganger runs.

Maybe someone can answer some Questions ?

  1. Should I replace Parasite with Data Sucker?
  2. Should I keep Kraken or should just drop it out? I love the card, but not so sure if I need extra ice trashing.
  3. Should I keep Deja Vu or go for something else?
  4. Should I keep Jones or just replace it with Armitage? I didn't had any trouble with my credits so far.
  5. What would Elliot from Mr. Robot do?

If you are going for ice destruction (Kraken and Parasite) you should probably take out at least one of those social engineerings for 2 datasuckers. I understand you have a limited pool, but I still can't really justify the Cortez Chips. Also, is your deck name a reference to Mr. Robot's "Evil Corp"

Whoops, just noticed you mention Mr. Robot in your write-up. I should read better :P Keep Kati and Deja Vu can be swapped for Clone Chip if you'd like. Kraken doesn't see much competitive play (at all) but if you like it, then why not?

I think my first question would be, why Ken? Apart from the added influence, his ability isn't doing you much good. There are only 5 cards that trigger your ID ability (The 3 siphons and the 2 inside jobs). I understand that you want to play the ID because you just got it, but at the very least you should make room for some Ken staples like Dirty Laundry, Early Bird, Planned Assault, or take out the Social Engineerings and sub in some Makers Eyes. Otherwise I think you'd benefit from trimming two influence and picking Andy or Gabe even (it wasn't long ago that Andy Sucker -- The OG denial criminal -- was sweeping big events).

Sorry to ask this, but could you please modify your deck description point II to remove the possible trigger word? It isn't necessary nor clever.

To the deck: I think you need to determine whether your intent is to attack the ice permanently (so destruction), or is it to use it as a means to economically cripple the Corp. In the latter case, efficient breaking and use of Crescentus is going to be of greater value than, say, Kraken. The latter isn't well liked in general because it places the critical decision of which ice to trash in the hands of the Corp, and they'll always make the least painful choice here.

Either option can still benefit from the inclusion of Parasite to remove small and annoying taxing ice like Pop-up Window, or Pup, or Rototurrent (more likely in your smaller meta).

Your breaker suite is going to struggle dealing with strength 4 sentries repeatedly; granted using Faerie/Crescentus on an Archer is going to be painful for the Corp to the point where you may never have to deal with it again, but what about Ichi 1.0, say, or Grim?

Social Engineering isn't something that I have seen used to very good effect; often it is better for the Corp to let the ice go unrezzed, even trashed, than give you the credits. You're also constrained as to when you can play the card, which is something that many don't like about it. There are more reliable ways for the Runner to make money, and while I acknowledge your limited card pool, Creation and Control is an excellent investment for not only Shaper cards but some very useful neutral credit gaining cards (incl. Dirty Laundry). If you're enjoying Criminal as a faction, seriously consider looking into Honor and Profit as well: Security Testing is an excellent addition to run-based decks that like to make money by getting into servers, although this couples best with a 3× Desperado deck vs Doppleganger. It also contains the "Ken staples" @rubyvr00m mentioned above: Early Bird (less a staple, but a good option) and Planned Assault.

@TonyStellato Thank You for suggestions. ^^ Well, Social Engineering is one the best economy cards to me in Netrunner. I know there are far superior economy cards, but the feeling that corp itself contributes to my assaults .. it is just pure pleasure to play it. I know it is situation dependant, but like I said it is not about the money. It is more about sending the message. Yeah. Mr Robot. I love these series as much as I love ANR ^^

@rubyvr00m good question. I know Ken needs different build (some cards are not available to me at the moment, I am working on it). What can I say love cards art, love his possible lore (escaped clone) and love extra influence. I know it can be used better. It might sound dumb but I love playing more than actually winning. I am trying to improve myself in ANR, but I don't like to follow 90% winning formulas. Blind copypaste is boring, but criticism is needed for a noob like me.

@ODie Np, edited! I took your advice and removed Kraken. I had few unpleasant experiences when the use of it backfired at me. Also you opened my eyes. Random destruction won't do any good. I got Forged Activation Orders afterall. Creation and Control is my priority list. I don't know when I will catch up current meta though.

Also about the icebreaker suite. What would you advice me, good sir?

I will drop DejaVu for Data Suckers as I will be able to pump it easy with Doppelganger runs (I am guessing).

So far my edits are: Removed 2 Kraken Replaced 2 Déjà Vu with 2 Datasucker

It runs quite nicely. Needs more some testing.

I'd be wary of losing the Déjà Vu altogether, because if you lose any breaker to a Destroyer, you're likely dead to that ice fit the rest of the game. You lack backup breakers, or weak fall-back options like Femme Fatale that could allow you to at least bypass the ice type you can no longer deal with. That said, Mimic is reliant upon Datasucker to deal with strength 4 or higher ice. So you sort of need both, though two Faerie could keep you out of trouble unless you run into Grail ice.

Siphon, Gamble, Bank Job and Armitage should be decent enough credit supply to support the aggressive running you're looking to achieve without bloating the build with unreliable credits like Social Engineering.

Dropping those gives influence space back for the Datasuckers, and maybe even room to consider some R&D multi-access, which I'm guessing for you would be The Maker's Eye?

Also, try to evaluate how much benefit you are seeing out of the Cortez Chips. Are they making the difference in play for the cost of the click to install them. If not every time, perhaps lower the count of these so that you're not drawing these less useful cards over better (economy, tutor, etc.) cards. The closer you can get your deck to the minimum size of 45, the better.

As far as breakers, I think that you're on the right track. These are cheap to install, fairly efficient and that first factor (low cost) means that they're supporting, not working against, your game plan. Stick with it and have fun.
