Vegan Nachos (3rd Place Nottingham CO 2023)

echo/ 830

A badly edited image from Bloodborne. The twisted face of Ludwig turns toward his iconic Moonlight Greatsword, but it is overlaid with a badly warped picture of a plate of nachos. The closed captions read "Aah, you were at my side all along".

Shoutout to Dice Cup's very good nachos, they powered me through the day and were by my side at table 1... all along. This is Sparrow Brawler but with some tweaks. Market Forces didn't have as much impact in testing as the original writeup promised, and without landing it consistently the deck felt very poor at times. So I put in some Hedge Funds. Your Digital Life is good, sometimes, but I also played it as a hedge fund (and as a beanstalk royalties) plenty throughout the day, including having to do some awkward click to draw turns. It can stay, for the occasional big payoff, but reliable old hedge fund wins out for me.

Oracle Thinktank is nasty but I want agendas I want to score; dropping to 1 also means you can very easily throw it in the bin when your opponent is at 5 points while knowing it's not going to change their actual progress towards winning. On a similar note, Shipment from Vlad is amazing for closing out games when you do stick tags.

Virtual Service Agent is amazing, I would play 6 if I could. Starlit Knight is also great and the list should probably be on 3. Another sentry (F2P?) wouldn't go amiss. Magnet is an option for cutting, and you free up influence for the third economic warfare like this.

Anyway, the deck is good, but loses some steam against careful runners once it's a known factor. Some of your hands are very unfair, some of them you're really hoping your opponent didn't draw breakers and money because if they did you're never going to stick any tags ever. Probably still a strong choice though, especially with further tweaking.

I've made a lot of similar changes, notably the agenda suite. Good to see it perform!
