SG+SU21 duel – Episode 1: Precision Design (vs Tāo)

A pair of decks using only System Gateway and System Update 21 cards. My family recently got into Netrunner, and we have been having fun building duel decks that play well against each other. See the runner deck here: SG+SU21 duel – Episode 1: Tāo Salonga (vs PD)

Tāo Salonga (shaper) versus Precision Design (Haas-Bioroid) is a fantastic matchup. Thematically, pitting a ruthlessly efficient megacorp putting up expensive defenses against a sophisticated hacker shifting ICE around to solve the puzzle feels like classic cyberpunk!

For the Corp, we started with Girometics’ [SG+SU21] Precision Design - Rushed Launch and made several changes:

• reduced agenda density from 10/44 to 8/44 (added Send a Message to help rez Ansel 1.0, Brân, or Tollbooth; dropped Orbital Superiority since this deck has no tag punishment; dropped Superconducting Hub as 3/1 agendas are less efficient in this archetype)
• added one Snare! to keep the Runner honest (deters running on the last click and/or with fewer than 3 cards in hand)
• removed Sprint to make room for more ICE in the deck (relying on Spin Doctor to carry the load on agenda management)
• removed SanSan City Grid and added Anoetic Void (for the SkunkVoid combo)
• swapped out Whitespace for Magnet (which has a hard End The Run subroutine, and to deal with Botulus)

This is a never-advance deck, where the goal is to score out agendas the turn after installing (without having previously placed advancement tokens).

Play Marilyn Campaign liberally as it costs the runner 3 to trash the asset. Afterwards it shuffles back into R&D, fattening up the draw pile and reducing agenda density.

We typically use the Haas-Bioroid: Precision Design ID to recurse Seamless Launch, and Spin Doctor to shuffle Marilyn and Snare! back into R&D. Project Vitruvius can be over-advanced to retrieve other cards from archives, depending on the situation.
