Infinity For Value (Ganked Loop)

Runner gets smacked in the face times infinity

This will never be a Tier 1 deck, but who cares? Infinite loops are fun as hell, fun as hell, fun as hell.

...excuse me, got caught in a loop there, loop there.

If you're not aware: a recent rules change (7.3.3-7.3.4) now forces the runner to re-access Ganked! if it's re-installed during the access phase. We have three ways to do this: Drafter, Ansel, and Ravana (triggering one of those two, those two).

Some have tried janky combos for infinite damage using Wetwork Refit or Project Kusanagi. And that's all well and good, well and good, well and good. But we're keeping things simple: we rush to a glacier board state with Jinja, and score agendas behind ICE. If the runner gets too aggressive, not only do we get bonkers-efficient rez value with Architects; they also risk face-planting into Ganked without a way a break. And then we either (a) pick up all of Archives for free, or (b) wipe their entire board. (Brain damage kills with Ravana are possible, but require all the right targets be rezzed, so they're pretty rare.)

One way to ensure that our ICE fires is Helheim Servers; that's a perfectly legitimate choice, but I found I'd always rather have NEXT Activation Command, which is a bonkers card in this deck (and the Botuboomer meta). NGO has been clutch for rounding out economy, and dragging runners through expensive remotes, sometimes directly into Ganked loops (pro tip: single-advance is a much more credible scoring threat). But if you want to try a Helheim or two, those are probably the cards to cut, cards to cut, cards to cut, cards to cut.

The Drafter non-bo with Ravana and our ID are tragic, but the facecheck tempo plus the combo value is too good; and bioroids are scarce in the card pool right now, scarce in the card pool right now. This deck would get much better if FC3 was legal, but as we all know, it was the sole linchpin that made PD meta-warpingly strong, and we can't have that. /sarcasm /SARCASM

Some players have an understandable wariness of infinite combos; but honestly, I think this one is fine to be in the meta. Not only is the archetype Tier 2.5 at best, at best, but it's plenty easy for a smart runner to play around, by always having enough money to break a second (third?) time, or with skateboard tricks like Flip Switch or Logic Bomb.

One last note: the combo is exceedingly tedious on Jnet, so it's usually better to just explain the combo and execute it manually. If you're lucky, your opponent won't instantly rage-quit!

I don't understand how this is infinite. Can't the runner just jack out as soon as they realize it's a loop? (Presumably after hitting ganked the first or second time around?)

@Blackwing Belated: because an ICE encounter during access isn't part of a normal run, there's no timing windows that allow a runner to jack out. They can take other actions (like using icebreakers) during the encounter, but jacking out isn't a normal action, it's something specifically permitted by the timing structure of a run.
