Mystic Zebra - played by Odonuvo - 4-5 @World 2023

Straightforward Aniccam Lat deck. This went 4-5 at World 2023, played by Odonuvo.

Game plan : contest anything early with Engolo and be efficient.

Mulligan plan : you want Aniccam.

In the Montreal meta, we created a testing group, called Dép Dive. Initially, we tried to go for LilyPAD and use the combo of Pelangi + Propeller to contest anything cheaply. But we were getting some problems in some matchup and the deck felt dependent to Fermenter.

After much testing, we switched to Aniccam. This let us be a bit more efficient in drawing our deck and allowed us to use the combo of Self-modifying Code and Overclock more effectively. Even basic econ can be more efficient with Aniccam. To help us, we have Mystic Maemi, which basically work like a boosted version of Rezeki (for those who remember).

Helping us with our economy is Miss Bones. We anticipated asset spam corp and also the use of costly upgrades, like Tranquility Home Grid.

To break ices, we have the excellent Engolo, helped by Takobi. Echelon and Cleaver complete the package. The reason for Engolo, instead of Buzzsaw is twofold : first to be able to contest anything early. This would allow us to deny the score of AR-Enhanced Security. Second, it is a tech against Stavka, especially against Ob when Hafrún is used. Rig shooting is now a valid way to win the game (as was demonstrated by Sokka, the world champion 2023).

Finally, we have 3 tech cards : first is AirbladeX (JSRF Ed.), which is a pet card of mine, because we do not use Hush. Second, there is Beatriz Friere Gonzalez, replacing a The Maker's Eye, to be able to check R&D from a less guarded HQ (which is usually the case against a shaper). Third, we have Reclaim. This is our secret tech against damage that would snipe a breaker from our hand or from some kind of rig shooting. Reclaim does not need us to have it pre installed and allow us to install a lost breaker clicklessly. In testing, this did better than Harmony AR Therapy for our needs.

Of note, if you get DJ Fenris early, it is sometime better to put Los: Data Hijacker on it instead of Steve Cambridge: Master Grifter. If no ice have been rezzed, considering that you could trigger Los: Data Hijacker at least 6 times in a normal game, that is a +9 card, making it the best economy card of the deck.

With Jailbreak, Diesel, Aniccam and Lat: Ethical Freelancer, there is plenty of draw power in the deck.

Of note, two matches were "friendlies", since Odonuvo did "intentional draw" for two rounds. Those matches were counted in the performance of the deck (if won or lost in the friendly game).
