419 with blue cards (22nd and 34th @apac)

AxWill 386

No idea

  1. Travel the whole July.
  2. Get occupied with everything but Netrunner on the APAC week. Mentally skip the tournament already.
  3. 4 hours before submission deadline is a great time to realize maybe you could play anyways as you have nothing else planned on Saturday.
  4. Hit the gym before doing anything useful for the lists.
  5. Realize you have practically same idea of 419 as your friend and lock the list with minor tweaks.
  6. ????
  7. Profit

When in doubt and rush and new meta, play crim and sports. At least on paper that is a good plan.

APACs went just as well as I expected them to go with the prep plan above so I'm happy with 34th place. Our corp deck with Aksu was sports that had a gameplan, but overall felt bit too clunky and poor to perform. This runner OTOH felt like it actually worked although some slots could still be tweaked.

Only quick notes, because the day was exhausting:

  • Hermes. What if you get to play both your ID and Leela? My gut feeling was that if you get this t1 against Sports, it turns the matchup favorable for you. Potential banlist material if people find ways to abuse it enough.
  • Flip Switch. Originally slotted as a rigshooter tech, this was the surprise mvp of the day. It is way easier to force early rezzes with only Squirtle on the table when you know you're immortal.
  • Networking. This was the tag tech as Oppo Research invalidates No One Home. Had one match where it could've helped, but I didn't draw it even with mulligan. If you suspect net damage more, NOH is an option. Or consistent value card instead of silver bullet, but I stand by my choice to respect the tags.
  • Career Fair could be Dirty Laundry, don't know which one I like more.
  • Mad Dash. Just a casual reminder that winning one point earlier and thus finishing the game is the most efficient econ, draw and wincon there is. And it’s all in same package.
  • Fermenter could be Liberated Account. Playstyle thing, I guess.

I think I faced 5 sports, one Ob and one AgInfusion on the day so deck felt a bit slow. :D

Not much more to say. It was great to play some competitive netrunner for who knows how long. Now I'm tired.

  • First thank you goes to Aksu for the corp list and last night prep.
  • As always tremendous thank you for NSG and all the players to make this happen.
  • Special shoutout for team Unband for all the Netrunner-related support.

Great to play a set of games with you at APAC Continentals AxWill! It was interesting to see who could 419 harder and the implications of Hermes in our matchups.
