[Startup] Tyreste Model Bioroids

Ams 89

I was set to bring BTL rush to the Leisure Games GNK in a hope to score some quick wins against runners bringing IDs they weren't yet familiar with, but the night before I matched up against echephron on jnet who played a deck that looked something like this and absolutely destroyed me in what was probably the most fun I've had playing Netrunner all year.

Thanks btw

Immediately after this game I knew I had to try it out. I chucked it together from what I'd seen and played exactly one practice game before bringing it to the tournament where it won 2 of 4 games.

The plan

The game plan is essentially to set up 3-4 single-iced remotes and wait for the Runner to approach a bioroid with Trieste Model Bioroids on the board. With the various recursion and derez effects available to you you can keep juggling Trieste targets to follow the Runner wherever they go.

The GNK

In my game against echephron they managed to Trieste a Týr and later forced me to let a Hákarl fire, but in my games Hákarl was often too big of an investment for it only to be broken for 3. Some better bioroid targets are certainly in order.

I also think Týr is too often a dead draw to be worth the slot. With the new 2/1s available Archer in HB suddenly feels very pleasant and I think I would have liked one more.

This deck does very well if your opponent lets you set up. Fully Operational continues to be an absolute powerhouse if left unchecked. I also found the new harmonic ice to be very pleasant for defending the centrals early game.

In the first game I lost, my board state was destroyed by a single Paricia and I had no way to recover from that. In the second game I lost, exactly 7 points of agendas were Stargated over three turns, but that only feels fair after an earlier game where I sniped the only 3 breakers in a 7-card hand.

Conclusion

One day I'm sure there'll be a competitive version of this deck, and when there is I'm going to absolutely love to play it, and against it.
