πŸ”₯ 55 CARD [Throwback] Zombie Loup (πŸ₯ˆ @ Cascadia)

FireRL (aka xFWx FIREBIRD) 1068

πŸ”₯ Progenitor Loup πŸ”₯

Having never played Throwback (or even looked at it), I wanted to play a runner that could disrupt any corp. So I went to one of the most powerful control decks I've ever played: ChiseLoup (or, more commonly known as a Mulch variant)

THERE ARE 55 CARDS?! THAT'S FOUR MORE THAN LAST TIME!

"I endorse this decksize, I'm sad I wont get the chance to bring an even bigger Loup to tournaments" -AugustusCaesar

Sorry AugustusCaesar. I just made it a tad bit harder for you when you do. 😊

πŸ† PERFORMANCE:

The deck went undefeated until the finals (4-1), and only lost to an unsuspected combo...

R2 - W vs Edge of World A Teia. One thing that I know about A Teia as a player myself, I know they're desperate for a constantly full hand. So, I Imped everything from HQ (including 2x 3-pointers) along with 1 of the 2 remotes, and then Conduit tunneled into 10 points.

R4 - W vs an Accelerated Diagnostics End of the Line Ob combo deck that had to desperately attempt to triple Accelerated Diagnostics flatline me while their remotes were a barren wasteland. I must say, the riot and thrill of the 1-turn triple AD kill attempt was the highlight of the day!

R6 - W vs Complete Image Chronos Protocol. Similar to the prior Ob, there was a desperate attempt to flatline since I was Imping everything.

Top-8 cut, Single Elim

QUARTER FINALS - W vs ? Epiphany Analytica. We both had a bit of a slow start. An AR-Enhanced Security gets snuck out. I shake the tags for a couple of turns while continuing to put additional pressure on HQ and remotes. Then an Oppo Research comes down. Now we run freely - it'll be tough to catch me when there's no cards to rez or play!

GRAND FINALS - L vs Mutually Assured Destruction Ob combo. Several turns in, Pivot was played to summon MAD, and an upgrade was placed on HQ, which I assumed was a Mavirus. I suspected a Mav>Jeeves Model Bioroids>MAD>EOTLs play. I had been avoiding engaging knowing that the more I engaged, the more I had to be prepared to trash, destroy, and rip apart HQ. Since there were only 3 other installed cards (2x unrezzed ice on HQ, and 1x unrezzed ice on R&D), I chose to sit back for another turn and continue building my Carnivorous machine that was ready to pounce with Steelskin Scarring in hand. Mav gets popped on my turn. I knew it was possible there was something I hadn't considered, but I honestly just expected this last play to be a 'I need to buy time' play because the moment I decide to engage, I will just tear up HQ into shreds. Aruzan puts Chairman Hiro down on the table. Oh... Oh n-----.

❀️ Cascadia is amazing, and now a staple netrunner event. The team that put it together and made it happen the last couple of years is phenomenal - kudos to them! If you didn't come, you missed out (until next year πŸ˜‰)!
