5-0 and Undefeated at Italian Nationals, this deck did not let me down. Big respect to AceEmpress who gave me a hell of a game in R1 on girls.
Edit: I woke up this morning to DotW, and I’m very surprised - clearly the mechanisms of NRDB are some arcane force even I do not fully understand. I was expecting Augustus Caesar’s awesome writeup to get it - if you haven’t, please go read it, story writeups always go a bit underappreciated on NRDB I feel.
I’ll also update my own writeup a little bit beyond the initial blurb I had - check out the discography if you’re into themed music for Netrunner.
Lucky Monkey Media strikes again!
I haven't played this deck in a while, and a big reason for that was the World Tree Arissana was just a bit too threatening of a force for it. When your deck logic is "I burrow agendas 6 deep into R&D so my opponent can't get to them while securing my remote with 12+ Strength Surveyors", instant access to Physarum et al. while deep digging with Conduit just becomes a bit too much. Now that WTA has been banned however, the main problem you need to overcome is Deep Dive, which messes with your deck logic by reaching 8 deep into R&D, and shuffling your deck afterwards, which adds insult to injury.
Saddle up, because we're headed into the Jungle.
I was always theoretically prepared to slot some Anemone's in case Deep Dive became a problem, but by themselves they weren't really reliable enough. That's why I swapped the Send a Message's for Fujii; and the Offworld for Viral Weaponisation. Viral Weaponisation has always been a cool card that just didn't find the right place to shine, but I think here it's doing exactly what we need it to - swipe the opponent's hand out of events critical to their gameplan, like Deep Dive and Ashen Epilogue. Much like A Teia itself, the psychomoral consequences of the card are dire too. It's a scary card.
Otherwise the deck functions similar to the previously posted version. Control your opponent's central accesses while building an impenetrable remote. Love you baeterial progaming.
For playing the deck: SB:TNI Music - Databattle 1
For getting in theme with the deck: Quero ir pra Bahia com você - Julio Secchin ft. Rebeca
For playing against the deck: SOS - Little Simz
Because I finally did well at an event with 2 Brazillian IDs please for the love of the gods listen to this it’s highly awesome you will not regret it: Liniker e os Caramelows: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert
Was amazing - eating together, spending time together, learning about the Pokemon meta from J0NALD, ice cream, shoe shopping, amazing evening chats with wowa and his dad. Thank you to everyone who made it a great experience, and looking forward to seeing you again soon. :)
Until then,
Bat out

Oh thanks! That's very kind of you to say. I think Arissana has been underplayed recently, so I took this deck with the intent to not have to play against too many of them. The real danger factor she represents to me is the proposition of running Rnd very cheaply with a Kyuban Pichacao Conduit engine that makes the Bacterial plan a bit more questionable. Inasmuch I don't know if a 2nd Mavirus would really save us, though it could certainly be helpful in pushing through a decisive score. The answer could be more big ice, like Seidr, which she's gonna have to Hush to get through cheaply. But a top tier Arissana with the right cards is very dangerous for us when piloted well, and you'll need to play the deck expertly to have a good chance against her. |

Thanks! Your continued enthusiasm for the archetype warms my heart. It's hard to give this a tier list ranking, but with expert piloting it definitely hovers around tiers 1 and 2 at the present moment. There's not a lot of decks that can break multiple 12+ Str Sentries sustainably. |

Seeing you piloting this deck yesterday night was such a pleasure. No wonder you went undefeated at nats. The Viral Weaponization is the icing on the cake showing your touch in the game. Hope to see you again soon! |

If you'll believe it, Aksu, Augustus and Jonald are wrapping up a TFA campaign ourselves, wherein we all got poisoned in the jungle. It's my favourite, ahh I love it so much! :D It's like playing against Prana PE! |

Ohh yes, this, more than anything, spurred me on - I have a pretty involved art brief, let's see if we make it happen. :) Very excited for your work. |

I lovehow you develop the deck farther and farther. Great idea with the viral. How do you like the 3x Mindsaping? So finally you also like the Konjin? |

Yeah I've fully converted to Mindscaping. Factors for me:
I've started to enjoy the Konjin - not quite playing it like you can but overall I like it. There's some very cursed Criminal knowledge I am now privy to that I will not mention here tho... |

Thanks for the write-up! What is Sadaka used for? Which resource are you mainly looking to trash? Is it used for anything else besides resource trashing? Which server does it usually protect? How would you describe this A Teia? is it a single-server glacier? Or is it a two server shell game? |

Hyo What is Sadaka used for? Which resource are you mainly looking to trash? Is it used for anything else besides resource trashing? Which server does it usually protect? Sadaka does several things for us: For once, it plays into our overall strategy of controlling central accesses. While thisusually only works for 1 run, this can be a deciding factor between Bacterial scores. When we first started playing this deck, generalist Hoshiko decks (otherwise known as reg) like this one were both very strong and very popular. Here the cards we were looking to trash were DJ Fenris for Steve Cambridge: Master Grifter to reduce the value of HQ runs, which we don't defend that much, and The Twinning, which triples the access depth of runners. In our more modern meta, Twinning sees less play, but there are still a lot of strong targets we want to snipe, such as Hannah "Wheels" Pilintra in Reg Lat decks which use her to gain an extra click to spend on Deep Dive, or Arruaceiras Crew, which would otherwise threaten to trash your ice. Insofar HQ and R&D are both good places to put your Sadaka, and whee you put it depends on whether you value trashing DJ Fenris or controlling R&D access more. In some games you can just leave it derezzed on the remote server to boost Surveyor strength. How would you describe this A Teia? is it a single-server glacier? Or is it a two server shell game? This deck is designed to use your Identity ability to create one very tall server from which you exert control over your centrals via Bacterial Programming. It is very rare that you want to ice your 2nd remote, though it can happen in maybe one out of 10-20 games. The NGO Front is usually not used to bluff opponents, but to get a free ice install on the remote while you econ up - but again, in an odd game it can also be used with its original design intent, as I did in my game against AceEmpress. |

Thanks for giving me the context of how to use Sadaka in the current meta and for other metas as well! I always thought The Twinning is a stronger gameplay than Stargate, but I now see that there are stronger tech cards against The Twinning now, like Sadaka or tags. I love the idea of leaving it derezzed to boost Surveyor strength, I was thinking it would be a non-combo with Surveyor since the trap trashes itself, but that’s only if you rez it! Love the Attitude Adjustment influence spend. A little bit more draw |
This deck is so cool, I'll need to sleeve it up to try at my locals next week!
With how many Ari players I've seen running Physarum Entangler to get around big ice, did you feel like 1 Mavirus was enough? I've been experimenting with 2 in my A Teia deck for increased reliability but I'm having second thoughts.
