HoshiGO, GO, GO! - Belgian Nationals 2022 - 5th Place

As I said in my Corp write up I wanted a familiar deck to take to Belgian Nationals having being away from the game for a while, so dusted off this Hoshiko list, updated it in light of the new bans and cards, and took it along.

The general game plan is to keep the pressure up on the Corp from turn one, using Chisel, Devil Charm, and Hippo to remove the most taxing ICE on centrals. The Simulchips, originally included to recur Chisels, can be used for a fairly decent Clot lock against fast advance decks, trashing your breakers to fulfil Simulchip's additional cost. Jarogniew Mercs are in there to protect against the various BOOM! decks doing the rounds with the release of Drago Ivanov and Mutually Assured Destruction.

The Twinning is a great card, although I found it difficult to justify getting installed. Perhaps I need a 3rd Paladin Poemu to make that more consistent, getting rid of the Overclock probably.

At the tournament it went 3-2 in Swiss:

Round 1 - NBN: Controlling the Message - Loss

I trashed a Drago Ivanov with 3 counters with Pinhole Threading, which told me it was a BOOM! CtM. I got Hard-Hitting News-ed, with Jarogniew Mercs in hand, so decided to go tag-me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to protect the Mercs for long enough to find the agendas to win. With hindsight I think I should have tried to hold off on going tag me for longer, particularly as I stole an early AR-Enhanced Security, and trashed Daily Business Show so agendas could have come into HQ, but there we go!

Round 2 - Sportsmetal: Go Big or Go Home - Win

I got Diversion of Funds in my starting hand, and my opponent didn't ice HQ, so my path forward was clear! This slowed them down enough for me to get to 7 points.

Round 3 - Haas-Bioroid: Precision Design - Win

I got set up really nicely this game, clearing ICE off centrals while having the money to challenge the remote.

Round 4 - Sportsmetal: Go Big or Go Home - Loss

I struggled this game for money. Although I managed to find my Clot to slow my opponent down, I wasn't then able to challenge the remote and they scored out.

Round 5 - Weyland Consortium: Built to Last - Win

This was a good match up for me, as Chisels and Devil Charms deal very nicely with Akhets and Masvingos.
