I've been using this ICE a lot lately, and it is sweet! NBN getting 2 great new barriers in consecutive packs is kind of bewildering. The stats on this ICE are great. cheap to rez, high strength, it's everything you want in an ICE. I would most likely compare it to News Hound. Same rez, same strength, trace with conditional ETR. I think News Hound is slightly better because currents are more popular than AI right now and Sentry's with ETR's are rare. Nonetheless, this clamps down on the Baba Yaga bullcrap I've had to deal with for a while, as well as other popular AI's like Faust and Atman.

Pros:

Cheap as dirt

Great strength, Parasite resistant

Trace 3 isn't too shabby

AI encounter is good

3 to break with both Corroder and Clippy

Cons:

Encounter effect is nifty, but blank if they aren't running AI

People are super paranoid about traces lately, so Trace 3 might not be so great

1 Sub is blank if they ignore encounter/beat trace

There's a certain woman out there who really doesnt care about tags, and is rather fond of that second sub... —

Boy do I love this card. Weyland's very own Ronin, this is an excellent tool for any Weyland deck looking to do some damage. Technically this can be FA'd if you want, but I believe this card serves a better purpose. Like Ronin, it masquerades brilliantly as a failed trap. And in a world in fear of BOOM! and Hard-Hitting News, people are more concerned with avoiding tags rather than preventing damage. A good strategy is to leave this out along with other traps, creating a minefield of Venus flytraps and Microwave Ovens. After running into one of those, it puts the fear of God into them and you are free to advance at your whim. While they're slamming centrals and hopefully hitting things like Bailiff or Errand Boy, you can get ready for your assassination, slam them with these, Vulcan Coverup, and Show of Force. Get ready to blap!

This card is deliciously evil. NBN has had a history of crappy barriers, but this one blows the others out of the water. Overall it is similar to Pachinko. It is a barrier with a conditional end the run. Pachinko suffered from positonal ICE issues. Data Ward still has some of those issues, but at least it still taxes the runner 3 to avoid dealing with it if you don't happen to have a Data Raven or Bandwidth on hand. Some may claim "Dude it's basically a suckier Tollbooth", and it kind of is. If the runner pays thru the cost, you basically have a blank Tollbooth you just rezzed for six. Those subs mean nothing. Unless you happen to be running the other card released in this pack that deals with unbroken subroutines..... Hey Chief Slee! With Chief Slee on the board, this, and many other NBN Ice suddenly have teeth. Little Engine, Resistor, and even Pop-up Window become must breaks. Overall, I think this is a good card and I know at least a few SYNC or New Angeles Tax decks who would love to run this.

If you can get a Data Raven in front of it... —
With this, Bulwark, and the soon to be released IP Block, Hunting Grounds is looking better and better, especially if you are running an AI. —
A sub boost would require them to break the last subroutine, which makes this a better tollbooth. —
NBN has a history of getting better barriers than Weyland (Wraparound, Resistor). It's frustrating & this card is crazy strong, as is the upcoming IP Block. —
Femme Fatale hate card, Tollbooth's revenge. —
I think the thing is that this is merely CRAPPY without support, while Pachinko is USELESS without support. That, and it's a much stronger payoff than Pachinko which justifies investing more deck space in it. —

Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to get in the car.

He looked at the man holding a gun to his chest. He looked at his trench-coat. He looked at his cybernetics. Something told him this man wasn't a detective.

Prisec is a neutral ambush most likely to be compared to that of Snare! or News Team. It costs a mere 2 to fire, compared to the former's 4, while having half the payout, with only 1 damage rather than 3. Now you might say: "Thats not very good. 1 damage is practically a negligible amount". And you would b right about that. However, the beuty of this wonderful card lie with two aspects. It is an Upgrade, and it has three to trash costs. This is HUGE compared to Snare!, which usually was a 1 and done deal. They run, it fires, it goes to the bin. Also, Prisec STACKS so you could potentially have 3 on an essential, taxing server, kind of like an expensive Hokusai Grid. Provided the runner delines to or cannot trash Prisec, this can become a major deterrant. Prisec works wonders with Argus Security: Protection Guaranteed along with Snare!, to do huge amounts of damage with only a moderate amount of investment. One of my favorite plays is to put 2 or more Prisecs on a server, along with a Casting Called Oaktown Renovation or Underway Renovation. This basically tells the runner, "If you run here. You WILL be tagged". Provided the runner doesnt get too gutsy, you can Click up the Oaktown to 10, 20, or 30+ advancements, netting you hundreds (Maybe) of credits. Overall, I think Prisec will find a way into almost every damage build, be it Jinteki: Personal Evolution, Industrial Genomics: Growing Solutions(Oh God no), or Argus. It even might have a home in SYNC: Everything, Everywhere! In short, this is my new favorite Ambush.

Now excuse me, I have some runners to flatline.

I can see this being fun for rich corps. Use Localized Product Line to get them all then install them all in your scoring server, perhaps behind a Data Raven. The runner is going to have a tough time with that scenario. —
If you're a Jinteki corp, then this is only better than Hokusai Grid if one of (a) you're stacking with a region (b) you're stacking with more copies of PriSec or (c) you're making use of the tag. Otherwise Hokusai Grid only charges you the two credits once and costs one more for the runner to trash. —
A big difference with snare is that prisec fires if accessed WHILE INSTALLED. —
I think the major points are non-unique and not an asset. If you can do something to increase the trash cost like IG then it becomes very hard to get rid of this. I'm just wondering at what point it becomes more in the runner's favor to build decks that decline to access and throw everything into archives. —

Smile for the Camera!

City Surveillance is a costly asset that hasn't seen much play. At a whopping 5 rez and a reasonable three trash, it almost always gets trashed before it can have much effect. However, this card may be given new light with the recent ID introduced in 23 Seconds:

NBN: Controlling the Message. With controlling the message in play, this makes City Surveillance (and other low-to-mid trash range assets) extremely costly to trash, costing 7 on a linkless runner (or 5 and a click for those who take the tag). Several instances of City Surveillance and a few reasonably priced ICE can ensure that your camera grids are always up, causing a sever drain on the runner's coffers.

Pros:

Credit drain for the runner (up to 3)

3 trash cost is slightly costly for runners not using Imp or Scrubber.

Can put early to mid game economic pressure on the less advantaged runners

Good Flavour

Cons:

Extremely Pricey at 5 to rez

Can be a liability to a corp if trashed after making the expensive purchase

Vulnerable to Imp, Scrubber, and Whizzard: Master Gamer

Overall, I think this card will begin to see play along with other undervalued NBN assets like Reality Threedee and Franchise City when the new NBN ID comes out . It certainly has a niche role, favoring Taxing decks and those who have many servers with valuable assets.
