the Council's suggestion - 24th @ UK Nats 2024

If you want to know more about how to play this deck check my previous guide

In this write up I want to answer a question I've heard several times in the past weekend:
"How do I play against this deck?"

  • Deny rezzes: Run with intent, not just because you can. Every ice rezzed is one less upgrade the corp needs for MAD and interacting with Anvil or Border Control can help the corp crack open an otherwise stale board with Ob.
  • Challenge the remote early: This is the best way to slow down the corp. It will come with great cost, so it's important to find the right timing, but letting the upgrades pile up one after the other will eventually make the remote uncontestable and the combo inevitable.
  • Hit HQ hard: This is probably the most straight forward, but getting the the combo pieces out of HQ is the best way not to die. A smart corp will make this very hard, either by defending it with extra ice, some of the remote upgrades or by sneaking out The Basalt Spire to help recur what gets trashed. Most of my opponents last weekend resorted to this as a last ditch effort to survive, but all of them pulled the trigger on this plan too late, where I already set up some kind of countermeasure as they telegraphed their intentions.
This is also where the only change in the deck comes in: Council suggested slotting in Winchester as a great ice to defend HQ. While the change did absolutely nothing throughout the event, I think it was for the better.

A massive shoutout to everyone involved with running the event: y'all ran such a smooth event despite all the complications, 100% would make the trip again.

As usual a big thank you to the TAI Breakers, from the ones cheering from home to the ones battling it out at the event: y'all make big events always such a blast, I'm already looking forward to the next one! ❤️

Special thanks to J0N4LD for all the help he provided despite having to deal with the most flaky and disorganized group of netrunner players, I promise we'll head straight to the car park next time 😅
