Pre-rotation decklist |
I was originally going to run a Faust Quetzal deck (look up "The Devil Went Down to IHOP") for my local meta, but then I saw the article about Street Peddler posted on stimhack.com. The Geist list there tickled my fancy, and I decided to try it with Inside Job replacing the singleton Career Fair.
Wow this deck performed better than I thought. Undefeated at our gathering in 3 rounds as runner against Butchershop, Replicating Perfection, and GRNDL Supermodernism. This is almost certainly the deck I'm taking to the ANRPC event in Cincinnati on July 25th.
Street Peddler is one of the best cards I've seen (my Quetzal deck ran the full set). Between her and Earthrise Hotel, I'm going to end up seeing almost all of my deck very consistently. Fun plays include popping her for a hidden Clone Chip, followed by popping the hidden Clone Chip for a hidden Crescentus. This sequence draws three cards, costs 1 credit, and derezzes high-value ICE like Archer or Tollbooth. Well worth the two influence, even if she "just" digs for your Desperado or the breaker you needed.
Account Siphon is good. Same Old Thing on Account Siphon is also good. Geist drawing a card while replaying Account Siphon off that Same Old Thing and drawing you into more pressure is ridiculous. Clone Chip, Crescentus, Street Peddler, and Same Old Thing already give high value, but getting more fuel to keep hammering the Corp is what makes Geist so powerful. The lists with cards like Forger and the breaking and entering breaker suite are cool enough, but they need Geist's ability to function. Just getting value out of cards that are already good with standard breakers is fine; the only real exception is Fall Guy, who is basically just a cantripping 2 credits (maaaaaaaybe sometimes you get protection for your Kati Jones).
Cards I'm Considering:
Plascrete Carapace: Playing against NEH Scorch felt a bit awkward if I couldn't keep a money lead. Having a pair of these could ease the pressure on me and allow me to maybe float tags for a turn for extra pressure (or just let me steal agendas without a money lead).
A second Clone Chip: Would either need to drop a Corroder for Breach, or drop down to one R&D Interface. Neither decision sounds great, but having an extra Clone Chip is never bad for more Crescentus shenanigans or more access to Faerie. Also considering cutting ZU.13 Key Master for a Cerberus "Rex" H2, but that puts too much reliance on Clone Chip for getting in against Code Gate RP.
Anyway, I think with a bit of refining this has potential to be a tier-1 deck. Feedback is welcome!

Crash Space is cool but I don't like that it can be trashed pre-Scorch. Being able to eat tags, absorb whatever kill cards, and then get to work either clearing tags or racing agenda points is pretty valuable. |
Looks like a nice deck, lots of free drawing with a normal good breaker suit! =D And why are you considering Plascrete over Crash Space in Geist?
