Less brain, more box

This is my take on @SeIverin's CT Stimshop Deck. I started playing that deck because -- after months of playing Anarch -- I wanted to return to a runner that does the fundamentals well: pressures servers, accesses multiple cards and makes lots of money (and I've never been a Crim player, so...).

I didn't change much, but I'll go over what I tweaked.

Indexing, vs. Maker's Eye

I know Indexing can be thwarted by Jackson, but it's free and still benefits you even if you don't land an agenda. Who doesn't love to delay cards, especially new ones like IT Dept? And if I see multiple agendas, I can just pull an R&D Interface off the workshop before running again.

Box-E vs. Astrolabe

More memory, more cards and a helpful synergy with Stimhack. It was hard to free up the influence (so long Corroder!) but worth it. It's great to be able to Quality Time and keep nearly everything.

Feedback Filter & Plascrete Carapace

Because PE and Blue Sun exist. Box-E helps against both of these in the early game, and if you need them later, just keep digging and spam Magnum until you find 'em.

Battering Ram, "Lady" and Atman

The breaker suite saw the most changes, partially to free up the influence for the Box. SeIverin's suite was all about consistency, but I think having a more diverse toolkit is alright. Besides, Workshop mitigates against drawing the "wrong" breaker early, as you can just throw it on and wait 'til you need it.

I miss Corroder, but the canine fracter is just excellent early game and synergises well with Test Run (breaks Hive for 3 creds, for example...). Once Box-E is on the table, you can use up your tokens and swap in Battering Ram.

Atman works nicely with the Workshop, as you see the ice you need to break before setting the strength (basically an early game Femme Fatale). Could just help you land that early Indexing or Legwork, too.

Probably too many words for such minor changes, but I'm going to put the deck through its paces and see if it outperforms the original. I'm already thinking about dropping a Legwork and Mimic in favour of Cerberus "Cuj.0" H3; I've facechecked a few Grims already and they ruined my day. I'd probably add a single copy of Scavenge or a Same Old Thing.

Considering taking a deck like this to Chilo City Grudge Match- interested to know what further developments you have for your take. @Selverin's deck was tuned for NEH FA, which I don't anticipate seeing much of at this tournament, so instead I expect HB FA and some variants of glacier among BS and RP. How does this deck work against larger ice/slower decks? I am considering dropping Mimic and Legwork to put 1 Faerie in, or maybe even Switchable, but I don't want to mess with the theme too much if the deck is tight. What are the deck's weaknesses?

@ItJustGotRielle Thanks for the comments! I've been tweaking the deck a lot over the past few weeks and have settled on a few changes. After walking in to a few Grims, I canned Mimic and added Cuj.0. It's more expensive, but it'll save your rig until you get Femme online. I also changed up the events a bit, going with 2 The Maker's Eye and 2 Indexing, as well as dropping one Test Run and adding a couple of Scavenge.

I settled on two copies of "Lady" H1, which make it cheaper to run through big ice like Curtain Wall or Heimdall 2.0. Scavenge makes it possible to run the dog as your only barrier breaker, and it definitely helps against glaciers.

As for grinding it out against slower glacier builds, I've had mixed results. Magnum can keep you in the money, but it's not enough to run every turn against taxing ice. Sometimes you have to sit back and click for cash until you've got enough to make your big R&D dig.

@ItJustGotRielle I realized I kinda didn't answer your question re: weaknesses. An early tag (through Breaking News, for example), or something like Elizabeth Mills can trash your workshop, but as long as you've been hitting MO enough, you can usually pull enough stuff off for it not to be fatal. I've also struggled in games where all my Stimhacks were at the bottom of the deck, but what can you do against bad draw?

Another weakness is the lack of D4v1d, which means your odds against IT Department go down.

Other than that, I haven't played as many games as I would have liked against RP (seeing as it's everywhere these days). That said, you can usually make enough cash to stay competitive and hope a Stimhack run can snag that early Nisei MK II.
