The NEXT King of England

magikot 1992

I play NEXT almost exclusively. This is a NEXT Design Deck that I have only been theory crafting in anticipation of the completion of the Lunar cycle but have yet to test.

Levy University doesn't seem to see much play but I think it is perfect with the Grail suite of ice. It searches up the other pieces to sit in your hand allowing you to choose from any of the four at any time making for painful and taxing runs.

There is a strong economy in the Hedge Funds and Successful Demonstrations. With the hard ETR ice, and heavy taxes the large bioroids and Grails represent the Successful Demonstrations shouldn't have an issue being played. Melange can make you ridiculous amounts of money fast. Hedge Fund is Hedge Fund.

There is 26 total ice in the deck. The NEXT ice I feel are auto-includes in a NEXT deck, not only for thematic reasons, but for the tax they represent. I wanted to include some really large, punishing ice as well and I think the four big bioroids do that job very well. They are difficult to click through, expensive to break, and Architect can quickly put them on the board. The brain damage also acts as an alternate win-con for the deck. The Grail ice is incredibly damaging, can crush the runner's tempo, and create early scoring windows.

Unlike most NEXT glacier decks, I feel this one has one of the more explosive starts that the ID is capable of. It can quickly build dangerous ice forts and then sit back and mine for credits all day long.

I'd really be interested in how this does in playtesting. I don't normally play NEXT Design but a deck like this would most certainly get me into the identity. Have you thought about running Peak Efficiency over Successful Demonstration with the amount of ICE in the deck?

I'm a big fan of NEXT Design, and I think this build looks like a blast. I'll have to sleeve it up at my next League night.

@WardOfTheWoods I have thought of Peak Efficiency instead, but for it to provide a larger credit bonus than Successful Demonstration you need 6 ice rezzed which makes it more of a late game card. It doesn't have the failed run clause that SD does (which is a huge point in its favor), and I do plan on testing it eventually, but I have used SD to great success in other NEXT decks.

@LordPrometheus85 Awesome! Let me know how it turns out because I won't be able to test it (unless I play solitaire) for another week.

I just noticed that a few of the cards aren't released yet lol. I'll try it with some minor changes and see what happens.

NEXT Design is my favorite corp. I'm definitely going to try this one out sometime soon! :) Looks like a ton of fun.
