I've been having some success with this interesting spin on SYNC. The biggest advantage it has is the agenda suite - I only need 2-3 scores to win, while the runner has to deal with News Teams and GFIs. This isn't supposed to be full Tagstorm, although it's obviously really beneficial if the runner goes tag-me.
Talk at me with yo thoughts.
Originally this was more of a glacier deck, but there's too many high-impact yellow operations out there not to include. I'll still usually end up with 3 ICE over R&D, HQ, and the remote.
Pachinko is really good, albeit situational. It's a 1-to-rez Eli that they can't click through. Is best early so you can get it down behind a sentry. Originally I had a Bandwidth in here, but dropped it for EoI.
Wraparound is still great. Can protect a central against Eater-based decks. I'll pay 2 to force the runner to pay 5 for their Paperclip install.
All the code gates and sentries are great.
The ICE is super cost effective for taxing. Consider an R&D with Gutenberg+Pachinko+Pop-up Window. If they take the Gutentag, the Runner pays 8+ every time they run (assuming corroder). That server had a net rez cost of 2 and install costs of 3.
Usually my scoring plan is 3+4 or 3+3+1. The most ideal situation is to IAA a Market Research while they're floating tags. The next turn is AA+Clones to make a 4-pt score.
PsychoClones is also very effective, often FAing 4 pts if they're floating tags.
Those big scores are rare if they don't go tag-me, but it's not too hard to get a 3-pt Market Research. Usually the turn is IA+HHN.
The Astro token becomes a "Clones" token in my mind. I'll try to score out the next agenda normally (IA for Market, IAA for GFI) and use the click saved from the Astro token to play Clones.
Launches over Hedge Funds because they net you 1 more credit. They can also provoke HHN runs.
Adonis Campaign because of the decent scoring remote, and I had leftover influence.
The only money you're spending on ICE is really wrapped up in the Tollbooth and the Data Ravens. Which means your credits can largely go towards big juicy traces.
Red Herrings behind the booth is still pretty effective. Throw a Raven in there and that's a pretty expensive steal. RH doesn't get hit by Rumor Mill like Ash 2X3ZB9CY.
I'm trying out Enforcing Loyalty after I got slapped around by an New Angeles City Hall once. It can punish sloppy Temujin plays and dismantle key icebreakers as well.
Archived Memories is just there to get back the high-impact events. I've also brought back a Sweeps to recover from Siphon before.
I almost always win if HHN hits. Even if they clear the tags, the tempo setback is brutal when the agendas are stacked against the runner. I've lost most often to Whizzard and Geist because it's so hard to get an economic edge on them.
And yes, this whole deck started with "Doesn't Market Research work with HHN pretty well?"
Does anyone else think SYNC butchershop will be big when BOOM! comes out?

Disappointed this doesn't contain Turtlebacks... who are literally Clones in Space. |
