Most of us think of the defensive side of her ability.

But think of it's offensive possibilities as well!

Maya is neither the only, nor the best option to use Jesminder's ability: Rachel Beckman and Joshua B. will turn her into a 5 click runner without any drawback.

*Edit: as noted in the comments, it doesn't work with Joshua B.. But I guess it goes well with Security Nexus cancelling effectively it's main drawback.

I don't think it comboes with Joshua B as his tag is at the end of the turn and Jesminder's skill is to avoid only after every *run*. —
Not even after a run, but only DURING each run, which definitively puts Joshua B. out of range of her ability. She still helps keep Rachel Beckman on the table in the case of Data Raven, Gutenberg, etc. —
Good point, my bad. —

If the runner encounter it 3 times or less, Wall of Static is a better choice. So, obviously, you'll want this one where the runner will run (very) often.

It can be viable protecting archive against any deck with Datasucker or on centrals in Jinteki: Replicating Perfection, but not on periphery since the runner will just bounce on the ERT routine (after Pup or Komainu maybe?)

Personally, I use it in Jinteki: Replicating Perfection to protect my economy assets (Sundew, Mental Health Clinic, PAD Campaign and Melange Mining Corp.). Every time the runner runs it to trash my Sundew (and you know he will) it's become more and more expansive.

If we assume that the runner has a 0 strength ice beaker that pumps and breaks for 1<span class="icon icon-credit"></span> each then it's actually 5 runs to break even with [Wall of Static](/en/card/01113). The stronger the base strength of the runner's breaker the better [Wall of Static](/en/card/01113) gets by comparison (because [Quicksand](/en/card/08060) will eventually get stronger assuming enough encounters. —
Gah, comments don't get markdown syntax. Here's the plain text version: If we assume that the runner has a 0 strength ice beaker that pumps and breaks for 1 credit each then it's actually 5 runs to break even with Wall of Static. The stronger the base strength of the runner's breaker the better Wall of Static gets by comparison (because Quicksand will eventually get stronger assuming enough encounters. —
what 0 strength fracter is there besides maybe Sage (which can't boost itself)? —
I don't think there's a strength 0 fractor besides Sage, but there are plenty of AI breakers that start at 0 or 1 (Darwin, Crypsis...a misplayed Atman...). Interstingly, Wyrm would be effective against this the first time you run it! —
It could be also a nice card synergizing with cards that incentivize running, such as (also neutral) Subliminal Messaging. —
Might not be bad as a single Archives ICE, I guess? If you're concerned about Runners farming Datasucker tokens this puts a limit on that behaviour at relatively low cost. —
I also use it as central protection in Replicating Perfection and I think it has an additional psychological benefit because the runner may forego early accesses in order to keep its strength low for 'future' accesses later in the game - but there is no guarantee for the runner this kind of avoidance strategy will pay off. I would also like to point out that the strength is not zero on the first encounter but 1, since it will get one counter, zero strength is only relevant to instand parasite plays or if the runner is using hunting grounds. Against some multi-pump fracters, AI or pseudo-AI breakers (i.e. Pancha-bread) it will take a long time (possibly not during your game) to out-perform a Wall of Static so that is a downside worth considering. I'm not sure using it to protect medium/low value 'permanent' assets like PAD campaign or Mental Health Clinic is a worthwhile use of ICE in a horizontal deck, if you ice and rez Quicksand on a PAD Campaign the runner might just ignore it in favour of hitting more valuable remotes and then you will have invested $5 and 2 clicks to 'set up' a pad campaign. —

Why would the corp play a card that benefit the runner? Oh yeah, that corp is Jinteki.

The card is great for economy! You make the same profit than Restructure, but need 7 less to do so.

But, on the downside, it gives 3 to the runner. But is it really a downside? Not if you want the runner to successfully runs and access your servers.

It goes well with Neural EMP, Fetal AI. Punitive Counterstrike, Midseason Replacements, SEA Source, and any traps.

If Jinteki (or any corp) plays this card, it’s not out of generosity, it wants you to run and access.

It's also a 1-influence Transaction, something BABW should consider. —
Runners can always replace accesses with Account Siphon :( —
No corp that wants to protect its servers wants to play this card. Even in BaBW this car is a net gain of 6 credits, subtracting the runner's gain the net advantage is 3 credits which is less than a Beanstalk. If youre about to spend influence o nthis card just for the econ make sure you get Green level clearance first as it is simply better 10 out of 10 times unless you WANT the runner to run on and break into your servers. —

Since you have to forfeit an agenda, you must have a pretty solid reason to play this card.

Therefore, I see 3 main uses for it:

1) To get rid of useless or harmful agenda like Shi.Kyū and Domestic Sleepers. Is the Bad Pub worth more than the 9 from Data Dealer? Probably. If you run every turn and can play it early it’s way better than data dealer. Both cost 2 influence, so for Shapers it’s a matter of choice: criminals have other reason to choose Frame Job over Data Dealer.

2) To give Bad publicity to the corp. If the recurring credit every run is doesn’t worth the forfeit of agenda point, the bad pub might have other more desirable effects. Allowing Itinerant Protesters and Raymond Flint? Maybe. Blackmail? OH YEAH! By sacrificing 1 point you can blackmail into remote and score 2 or 3 point: totally worth it!

3) With Iain Stirling: Retired Spook, it’s a good way to stay behind in the agenda count and still get the 2 credits per turn.

Since Honor and profit, Frame Job a M.V.P. in my Iain Stirling deck. I sacrifice a one-pointer, get my 2 per turn, plus 1 per run and it allows me to blackmail into remote to score other agenda. Sometime it worth sacrificing an agenda to get better result over time: and Frame Job is the best card for that.

The upcoming Fan Site in Old Hollywood also serves as Frame Job fodder! Might see some interesting if not quirky plays with FS, FJ and / or DD. Too bad Iain lacks Influence... —
You're right! Fan site will be a reliable way to play DD and FJ without forfeiting agenda point. For only one influence it's pretty solid. It synergize well with Iain too since you usually want to let the corp score the first agenda. I'll have to find a way to free some influence for it... —
I'm seeing this card more and more lately, and it has yet to actually harm me as the corp. All it does is tip your hand that I should expect Blackmail at some point. I'd love to see this and other bad pub cards get more play, but they're so ridiuclously expensive/finicky to pull off that I'm not sure it's worth it. —

I've always saw this card as a corner-case until very recently. In fact, in a recent draft match it became my M.V.P. Cheap to install and to use: it can shine in the early game.

It' important to understand that it's not a Killer and should not be considered as one.

It breaks only 21 of the 46 sentries (after order and chaos) and is useless against non-tracer sentries like Archer, Fenris, Komainu, Grim, etc. But, against sentry-tracer, it's generally cheaper to use than Ninja and Alias. And compared to Garrote, it cost 5 less to install and need only . Since Killers are so expensive to use, adding Gingerbread to your deck is a good way to decrease the cost to break some of the sentries, but you'll still need a better killer in addition to gingerbread (probably Faerie).

In addition, it can also be use for some code-gates: Checkpoint, Salvage, Viktor 2.0 and Viper.

So the question is: does breaking tracer ICEs for 1 or 2 less worth the deck space and the ? Maybe, depending of your meta. And if you chose to add it to your deck, it's probably better as a one-of.
