Marathon (Whiz Style)

Vitesse0 2

Hey, Gamers! Do you like eating with your hands? Utensils not for you? Do you love running every turn?

Alternatively, do you love the sifr parasite combo? Do you wish you could live the Medium dream?

Then this Whizzard is for YOU! I don't run forks, knives, or spoons. I use Faust to make their ice useless and parasite the small ones with a billion subroutines. I use David on the big boyz and then sifr them the next run, usually with parasite. Deja vu to get back the parasites and you are in business.

Asset spam is sad against Whizzard. Boom is sad against sports hopper, snare is sad against I've had worse.

Against friends, try to outlast them and see below against Glacier. Against CTM, try to race the corp and only remove tags if it is economically efficient. Otherwise, rack 'em up and race for the win.

Against Glacier, I have black orchestra and paperclip because you will have enough money to make runs on the servers you believe contain their agendas. Otherwise, you let them deck. Run a copy of Levy to beat mill decks and net dmg decks. MKUltra works against swordsman.

Temmy J for the monies and Earthrise for the draw. Feel free to swap out the Earthrise for a Wyldside and pancakes. However, I find that most matchups tend to go towards the lategame if the corp gets rid of Faust / medium early or I have a poor mulligan. Therefore, I don't usually need all of the card draw (sports hopper is a keep unless you replace it for carapace).

In faster games, the draw is good while I run everything and inject to remove the Omar Icebreaker Suite from my deck. I can always Deja vu a Faust if I need to.

Run all day and every day to keep your blood flowing! Good luck GAMERS!

Card list and decisions:

Déjà Vu: Grab your Parasites, pick up a milled Faust or your Mediums.

Dirty Laundry: Easily replaceable.

Inject: Discard Black Orchestra, MKUltra, or Paperclip and draw three cards for one click.

I've Had Worse: Auto-Include for inevitable Snare!. Or, if they BOOM! while you have seven cards, then you draw back up and survive Traffic Accident.

Levy AR Lab Access: Necessary recursion in glacier matchups.

Rumor Mill: Great hate on Jackson Howard, Caprice Nisei, or Marcus Batty.

Employee Strike: Switch out rumor mill if against Blue Sun, Potential Unleashed, or CTM.

Sure Gamble: Solid.

Şifr: Worst card in the deck kappa.

Sports Hopper: If corp tags you and forces you to end your turn, use hopper after mandatory corp draw and go up to seven or eight.

Plascrete Carapace: Switch out a hopper for a carapace if you find yourself against Argus Security: Protection Guaranteed, Builder or Boom.

Daily Casts: Easily replaceable.

Earthrise Hotel: Four credits and one click gives six cards over three turns. Compare with Wyldside and pancakes combo. How consistent would you like your deck?

Salsette Slums: Consider running two-of depending on recursion meta.

Same Old Thing: Consider running two copies and one less Déjà Vu. Works on your milled Levy AR Lab Access.

Temüjin Contract: Yes, please. You can remove both D4v1ds to put in a third contract.

Black Orchestra: Since I don't run Forked, Knifed:, or Spooned, I need icebreakers that I can install from heap.

MKUltra: See above. Feel free to replace with Mimic.

Paperclip: See above.

Faust: It's ok, I guess.

D4v1d: Usually useful to bounce off Fairchild 3.0, Archangel, or Tollbooth before Parasite combo with Sifr.

Medium: Win con. Consider running Omar Keung: Conspiracy Theorist if you don't want to punish recursion by slumming them.

Parasite: Remove parasites from the deck to unlock amazing combo: 1. Click for 1 credit. 2. Concede.

Forked: Less useful because of Friends in High Places. Does not combo with slums. Consider running a copy of spoon, but I took fork and knife out while I experiment.

Spooned: Dumblespoon > Dumblefork any day. Opinion me.

Knifed: This card is usually dead in hand. See above.

Rebirth: This card is the definition of situational. Edward Kim: Humanity's Hammer, Quetzal: Free Spirit, Omar Keung: Conspiracy Theorist. Omar is probably the most useful after the corp puts all their ice that normally goes on archives on their deck to stop the medium. I don't use Rebirth because I think Whizzard is good as long as there is an asset or upgrade in the corp's deck.
