Baby, You Can't Afford Me

Koschei 140

The fighters take their positions on opposite corners of the octagon. They've got fist-a-cuffs ready, and have the fire in their eyes. Ding, ding! One edges forward, the other decides that the Leeroy Jenkins approach is best. Sure, ol' Leeroy may have gotten in a punch or two, but now he's been tripped up and is on the mat. Mr. Opportunity smiles and begins pummeling Leeroy to a pulp. Leeroy breaks free, but is on his back. Mr. Opportunity steps back and takes a breath. "If he takes his time, I'm gonna wreck it like Ralph."

Leeroy gets up and licks his wounds, but doesn't give good blocks. Opportunity is knocking for sure, and this time a roundhouse to the FACE. Now he's on the mat again, face down. Body twitching, the ref calls it.

All ridiculous stories and analogies aside, this deck is meant to back the runner off, then score quickly from hand or pop a Bellona that they can't afford.

Stars of the Show

Economic Warfare & Hard-Hitting News - These two are an obvious fan favorite, but they don't necessarily need a follow-up. Keeping the runner broke will allow for a turn of setup, then take advantage of the time.

Vladisibirsk City Grid - FA potential and can be masked easily as an agenda, forcing the runner to check, or as an NGO. Works great with Remastered Edition, and when paired up scores a Bellona or a Beale!

Anansi - Yes it's splashed, and yes it doesn't normally get seen in NBN. But it works. From my experiences, runners will be thrown ten steps back if you have it early, and it's great to protect whatever server the runner is threatening most.

15 Minutes - It might seem strange to place this here, but it deserves special notice. Scoring this early can be quite important, because you don't always know what agendas will come at you, more specifically when you'll need a Beale at 2 or 3 points. It's also important to have it ready for Exchange Of Information, since windows are somewhat tight.

The Mulligan - Setting up a remote server quickly is ideal, with something that can etr. Money is good, Econ Warfare is great. Dig fast and score a Remastered, it will make the rest of the match so much easier. It enables a Beale from hand, and a boosted Beale or Bellona if you also have the Vlad Grid set up.

Possible Replacements - Exchange of Information and 15 Minutes can be swapped for a Boom! and Archived Memories, but you'd lose the Anansi and (probably) the Mausolus. I had originally used a Drafter with the Boom!, but a Consulting Visit and HPT would also work.

Tomorrow's Headline - If you REALLY feel like you need that extra tag presence, this can work instead of a Beale. The tag on scoring can enable EOI if you can manage it, but I prefer the flexibility of the 3rd Beale to get the extra point.

This deck has a winning record with me, so that is REALLY saying something. :P

Happy hunting, and go get 'em, Tiger! (That last part was for you, @TheKing) Sending credit to @0thmxma for his contributing ideas!!
