Too Adam Too Furious: Heinlein Grift

UncannyDynamo 8

Adam is the ultimate criminal-shaper hybrid! Clickless draw! Clicks through subroutines! Starts with hitting HQ hard!

The lack of run events might seem odd but through testing I've found that they are only useful in the early game. During the mid and later game after there is more ice, there aren't enough clicks to Same Old Thing and keep up the econ simultaneously. To remedy that R&D Interface was put it in favor for constant pressure. Another odd card choice is the lack of extra directives. Later in the game when you would want the extra card draw you are also wanting to keep up econ. There aren't enough clicks to install them and Independent Thinking and keep up the econ. That's the reason for Earthrise Hotel.

With that in mind, trying to score out early to get Brain Chip started is a definite goal. While a crim/shape hybrid, Adam plays more like a criminal in terms of aggressiveness that just so happens to be able to grow, as opposed to build, a great rig on the side.

Now for the MVP, Grifter! Adam has to Always Be Running, so why not get paid for it? It's a miniDesperado! Its timing for giving credits shouldn't be seen as a drawback either because it kind of protects you from Neutralize All Threats trashes. You want to see it early of course to smooth out the econ. Earthrise Hotel and Kati Jones are for faster clickless draw and stable econ, respectively.

When your breakers are set, or you think the burst draw will get you get set in a jiffy, Independent Thinking away Safety First and Always Be Running! R&D Interface, Multithreaders when Brain Chip is larger, run!

Possible changes, the third copy of Special Order might be swapped out for an HQ Interface or Clone Chip. I am not sure about Symmetrical Visage. You might want to swap it out for Plascrete Carapace if that's your meta.

I would love to hear any thoughts on the deck!

Is it not extremely scary to have Mimic as your only sentrybreaker? Cortex Lock and Ichi 1.0 seem super dangerous, not to mention the ubiquitous Archer. Datasuckers are things, but aren't you just locked out by Archer?

Honestly I can see my build going to this breaker package, depending. I've found shrike to be a suitable sentry breaker, -2 credits off garrote (my previous killer), and it breaks all subs, which is great for the odd komainu which you might see should adam become a threat (I honestly think he's the best runner from DnD).

You should scope out my Adam build, I've been testing it quite a bit and tuning it. Its been quite strong.

@pang4 Honestly? It concerns me a good bit running Mimic/Datasucker as my killer suite for all the reasons you just said. I started with that though because of econ issues I've had during testing so I wanted to have a breaker whose econ load I was familiar with until I figured it out. @x3r0h0ur though has had success with GS Shrike M2 which I think would be a good switch.

@x3r0h0ur I've found that Mimic/Datasucker is a decent killer suite but I've been screwed over royally by being unable to get the Datasucker at the right time. Since you've had success with GS Shrike M2, I will most likely switch to that since the extra two card slots would be interesting and the extra MU would fit perfectly for the first Multithreader. Your Adam build looks awesome! Unfortunately Stimhack hates me with a passion. Every single time I've used it, I've died within 2-3 turns. I've kind of given up on self damaging cards. Although Brain Cage might change my mind (taking up the two slots from Datasucker). From a flavor standpoint, a bioroid getting brain damage from replacing his presumably already metal skull with another metal skull is hilarious.

How do fast do you get your breakers out? I chose the Special Order over Self-modifying Code to save on influence and I might drop it to 2 copies after more testing.

The advantage of smc over smc is profound. Being reactive on ice breaker tutor is far better than reactive. It also let's you slot breaker recursion in case of bad stuff, while also using it to propel your setup time, using smc 2x on one stimhack.

The cage has been great to turn on safety turn 1 or 2, or to continue to offset stimhack. My build wants to stimhack without second thought.

With ABR and smc I've been plenty fast to be a threat even vs NEH.

After some testing, I found that GS Shrike M2 and Brain Cage were very good at what they do! I was able to set up the three breakers and a Multithreader without much issue. I haven't gotten around testing with Self-modifying Code and Clone Chip yet but I will let you know. Two Special Order worked pretty good as I never needed the third.

Unfortunately for me self-damaging cards still hate me as each game that I installed Brain Cage it trashed a card I needed so I will be using Public Sympathy instead.
