As a relatively new player I find it quite difficult to build a deck. So, give me some advice. What are the strong points and the weak ones. Can you distill a strategy from this deck?

Take out 10 cards, for starters :) Runner decks generally should be as small as possible so you can get all your pieces out as quickly as you can, and one of Chaos Theory's strengths is her 40-card limit instead of the usual 45. Here's a few things you might wanna do: Replace Morning Star with Corroder Replace Quality Time with Diesel Bump Sure Gamble up to 3 Remove Deep Thought, Lockpick (it won't help you with Dagger), Rabbit Hole, Ice Analyzer and Liberated Account If you want to keep Dagger, you want 3 x Cloak and probably a Ghost Runner. You don't need Magnum Opus and Kati Jones - pick one or the other (I'd go with Opus) Add 3 x Self-modifying Code and 3 x Clone Chip. This is a pretty standard Shaper suite to search for any program you need. (Use SMC to search, then trash Clone Chip to bring back Self-Modifying Code and repeat. You can do this during a run, after ICE has been rezzed, which is pretty neat) +More stuff you'll find out by playing it Hope this helps! Keep it to 40 cards and make sure you have enough memory to run your rig. Have a look around on this site for more deckbuilding ideas - this deck netrunnerdb.com is a pretty straightforward and effective Chaos Theory. |

Lose some of Deep Thought, Maker's Eye, Indexing and RDI. You don't need that many ways to attack R&D. You don't have a way to boost Dagger. The Rabbit Holes are probably not worth it. Having both Toolbox and Dinosaurus is odd. You can't install both at the same time. I prefer Diesel to Quality Time. It is probably worth having some form or Tutor, like Self Modifying Code or Test Run or Special Order. Having Liberated Account, Kati, and Magnum Opus is a bit strange. Once you have one of those out the rest become close to dead cards. |

First off you have too many cards. Always keep a runner down to minimum unless you have a strategy that specifically needs more cards. Second you don need that many ice breakers. Also you have to remember that you are shaper which is made for Tutor cards. One of each breaker and put in a ton of tutor. Liberated accounts is one of the worst econ cards in the game based on what you get out of it so i'd lose it. You dont need three Kati Jones because if the deck is down to 40 you wont have a problem finding it. Swap out one stimhack for a suregamble. Every runner generally has three sure gambles and stimhack wont even be used three times. Icebreakers depend on how econ is. The most efficient breakers are garrote, Torch, and Morning star. Femme is also pretty good for a tight situations. A popular combo for these expensive cards are having test running and then scavenge them for the cost of three total. scavenge will also be handy for Femme Fatal. Again i'd say you don't need three copies of personal workshop then again that is a card you could have three of on the board but it really does slow down a deck. You are going to run into memory problems though so i'd say you'd need that rather than lockpicks and dagger. If you are going into stealth then you need the full suit of stealh cards in my opinion. Overall it does seem like you are a new player based on the build but that's alright because it happens to the best of us. Just find a strategy that you feel conformable playing and building decks that use that strategy well.
