My updated version of my Ken "Express" Tenma: Disappeared Clone Hemorrhage deck. After posting version 2.4 and getting a bunch of feedback I changed a couple of things around. As before, I would love additional suggestions!
Changes over the 2.4 version:
-1 Eater
The basic idea is to get rewarded for making runs, which is what you should be doing anyways. Everything in this deck gives you a bonus for running. With 13 run events and 3x Same Old Thing, Ken's ID is super useful. But his ID is even more useful for the 17 influence.
The influence here mainly goes towards Hemorrhage. The main idea here is to get Hemorrhage out nice and early and start making your runs. You will get virus tokens as a byproduct of those runs. Have both Hemorrhage out, and double your tokens. And then start making the Corp toss cards out. Now the Corp gets to choose which cards they toss, but it's never good for them. You could make them toss 2 cards per turn and break any combos they were building towards. But the advantage here is that they will keep their good cards, such as agendas, in their HQ, or in a server. There are also some good timing combos when to force a discard as well. After you've milled a bunch of cards, Legwork into HQ and steal all the agendas, or hit Archives with a surprise Hades Shard. Or Inside Job into a server. Furthermore, just leaving virus tokens on Hemorrhage is an awesome way to threaten the corp and make them play sub-optimally.
Some specific card choices:
I decided to try this version with 2 High-Stakes Job. It seems like a natural fit for Ken and Public Terminal. Seems to be of more use mid game. Imagine, 3 public terminals out, it would cost you 3 credits to play. You get 1 credit back. Hit a server with sec testing, and desperado, you would net 13 credits (plus card draw, hemo token, see HQ card)! You could swap these 2 slots for something else if you want. Perhaps Running Interference?
Retrieval Run is my program recursion in case some of my programs get nuked (People will target Hemorrhage). Or, it could be used to cheaply install Femme Fatale if I had thrown it into my heap due to overdrawing cards. Coupled with Same Old Thing I could use it up to 4 times. You could drop this to free up influence for Utopia Shard and a Stimhack.
Desperado is being used instead of Doppelgänger for the money. You could use Doppelgänger since it is NAPD MWL compliant, and would net you extra virus tokens, but I found that the more runs you make, the more ICE you have to break, and the more expensive it is. Tough choice.
Public Terminal is being used instead of Prepaid VoicePAD due to the lower install cost to get it set up quicker. Most of the events are run events (11 run events costing money). I include 3 copies to get this out early. It is also great Power Shutdown fodder.
Enhanced Vision is included so we can figure out the optimal timing to Legwork into HQ or what ICE might be up for High-Stakes Job. When combined with Hemorrhage, it gives a powerful tool to know when to trash; super useful if the Corp is keeping a small hand.
John Masanori is a fantastic card for this deck. Providing extra draw for what you are doing already. However, if you get locked out, this could be a dead card, thus why I include only 2 now.
I debated between Symmetrical Visage and Kati Jones for the slot. Kati Jones is great, when you get locked out and need an influx of cash for a big run. But I found it click intensive, and it took too many turns. I chose Symmetrical Visage due to the click compression it offers. It helps a lot when I have to click for cards when I'm not seeing what I want.
I am now fairly happy with my breaker suite. I ended up dropping Eater. While it's a good card, it was expensive to install, and I wanted a quick and cheap to install suite. I was finding more and more I installed the traditional breakers before Eater. Dropping it also freed influence.
I popped in Mongoose for the early game pressure, but I still kept the Faerie and Femme Fatale (more so for the bypassing). I dropped the two Cerberus "Rex" H2 and elected for ZU.13 Key Master and Passport with the freed Eater influence. The suite is topped off with Corroder and Breach. Giving it 2 Fracters, 2 Decoders and 4 Killers.
A quick note on Hades Shard. Sometimes you might want to play it to the table. This provides another real threat. When the Corp discards cards due to Hemorrhage, they always realize that you could pop this at anytime, and so they might leave a couple more agendas in hand. However, a more devious play is playing it straight from hand (paying for it) and popping it right away. If you play it from hand, and trash it, there is no window for the Corp to Jackson their archives... so it's totally unexpected and the Corp can't prevent it. People use the Archives as temporary storage, this exploits it.
What you want to see in an opening hand:
Faerie or Mongoose (or Special Order)
1 copy of Hemorrhage
Symmetrical Visage (John Masanori is useful too, but since you have no breakers down early game, it could lead to a tag if you facecheck early servers)
Dirty Laundry (or Sure Gamble, or Security Testing)
What I would like to fit into the deck or change:
I cut Utopia Shard for the one influence... but it's such a great card instead of Plascrete Carapace, especially combined with Enhanced Vision. Plascrete Carapace is only useful against meat damage decks, Utopia Shard is useful against all.
Would like to fit in Kati Jones for when I get locked out
Get down to 45 cards
Add in Data dealer to help deal with News Team or simply a quick influx of cash

Thanks for the response! That is for sure a viable change. I did cut Enhanced Vision for one of the revisions. It isn't super critical to a winning strategy, and it is the easiest to cut. I found that I missed it too much though. Being able to know what's terrors await you is a huge advantage. I think it depends on your play style. But you are right, Kati Jones and Symmetrical Visage together solves any late game issues with servers that have been ICEd up. You could possibly go -1 Enhanced Vision and +1 Kati Jones. Kati isn't needed every game if you have your engine up and running already. And Enhanced Vision would be fine as a 1-of, but I do like seeing it early, which is why I have it as a 2-of. |

Played this last night and hit 50+ credits at a Netrunner meetup. Pretty crazy. Both games I never saw Hemorrhage and still won. |

One of my versions I experimented with having Djinn to help tutor Hemorrhage. It worked well, but it was a lot of clicks, and credits. And it was a dead card if I pulled it later. Useful early though. |

I played against Pālanā and ETF and I slotted a Kati in there. Do you find Hemorrhage wins games? |

Awesome, ETF is one id I usually have issues with. Were you able to get through the stacks of ice? I switched around the breakers to help with that, and glacier is why I want to put Kati in. What did you replace for Kati? I find Hemorrhage to be super helpful (thus why I built the deck around it, and why I keep revisiting it). It's great combo prevention, and a good way to control card flow. It doesn't win games by itself (maybe with Hades Shard it does), but it builds up to a state where it is easy to predict what the Corp will do ( Enhanced Vision helps with this). It takes a bit of practise to figure out the optimal timings (I'm still learning that). But above all I find the idea of Hemorrhage fun. It's threatening (sometimes enough to cause the Corp to waste 3 clicks purging), and it gives the Corp a choice, so it's not a one sided trashing game. That's where reading your opponent comes in, it's a bluffing game that you can control. At one point in time this deck had Indexing to help control the cards into the corps hand, giving you advanced knowledge. But that was too much influence. I'm not really too sure what else I could add in that would combo with the Hemorrhage hq card control. Utopia Shard worked quite well, but I needed the influence for the breakers. |

Multiple ice is fun until you hit a double sentry... It can be bad news. I was thinking you could drop the Hemorrhage for extra influence and just do the best breakers at that point... Dropping the Hemorrhage and Hades Shard opens so great influence for really great breakers. |

I am working on a Good Stuff Ken with Corroder Clone Chip GS Shrike M2 Gordian Blade and maybe a Medium or Cyber-Cypher. Also, added some Councilman to get rid of the Caprice Nisei or Ash 2X3ZB9CY upgrades. |

Using Councilman, you can stop Jackson Howard from being rezzed when you run Archives. It is much cheaper prevention (0 credits vs 7). And it is more versatile, so you can use it on other upgrades as needed. You can include a couple in the deck so it'll pop up faster (instead of just 1 per deck), and then you could then have multiple down on the board at once. The only problems I see is if the Corp had already rezzed Jackson Howard. If he's already rezzed, then you can't prevent his ability. I'm not too sure you would want to play this to the table too early, because then the Corp will just rez all assets right away. I guess that's not bad since you will know what everything is and there's no surprises, but it essentially turns off this card. I guess that's where Political Operative comes into play. Perhaps PolOp instead of Councilman here? The HQ requirement is a tough sell for me (PolOp costs 2 clicks and a bunch of credits). Anyways, you could do something like this to my deck: -1 Hades Shard -1 Plascrete Carapace -1 Enhanced Vision +1 Utopia Shard +2 Councilman And if you really want, replace the last Enhanced Vision with Kati Jones. Personally I like Enhanced Vision, but Kati Jones is such a good card. It's a really tough call to me. |
You my feel different than i do but I would drop the Enhanced Vision for Kati Jones. I'd rather have the last game econ and Kati is the best choice.
