Deck valid after First Rotation |
I favour Anarch-based deck rather than any other Runner factions overall, but since Noise the prince left due to our first rotation, I see something else offered by Shaper. It's a pity Kate went out as well, but there's a lot of other Shapers that might be great. This is my Beta-test for deckbuilding based on Hayley Kaplan in order to utilize (or even abuse) her skills. Hayley can install the same type of cards from the grip means I can save to setup my opening game.
Disclaimer These cards are built by an amateur and actually just for myself. I do not know its feasibility in the tournament and competitive play (That's why I need this beta-testing and some plays to measure its uncompetitiveness and gain some recommendations in order to be competitive in the future). Please do help me learn. Harsh criticism and recommendations are really appreciated and welcome.
I will analyse and mention the reason why I think I need to include these cards in the deck. The above disclaimer is still on. I decided for sure that I need a thin deck in order to do the setup fast and finish it in the early game, so 45 cards are justified. I play only simple combo (or even none here) in order to maintain the independence from the chain reaction from multiple cards.
Diesel is needed in order to thin out the deck and increase the rate of finding the cards needed.
Modded will be really useful for the rest of the game because it will save by reducing the costs of installing programs or hardware by three. Will be really useful when I want to install high-cost programs such as Mass-Driver and Magnum Opus, or hardware such as Adjusted Matrix. (Disclaimer: everything above 5 is assumed expensive for me).
Special Order will be really helpful to find an icebreaker needed, really useful for the rest of the game, but prioritised to get this card at the early game.
Sure Gamble will give definite 4.
Adjusted Matrix would be helpful to support icebreaker breaking other type of ice, especially in the early game where it's not yet set up.
LLDS Memory Diamond helps a lot by giving a +1 and +1, including additional 1 cards for the maximum hands.
Rabbit Hole will help in order to give +1 and also thinning out the deck.
Ubax is not the best console out there, but in this deck, I think it will help to release the desired card faster, because I do not need to spend a to draw a card.
I put as many economic resources as possible because I almost have none to prevent damage and none to prevent tags. That's why the only way possible, whenever I encounter tagging cards and ice subroutines, is to face it directly.
Armitage Codebusting is my click-economy. This would be really good in the early-gaming and of course whenever I need more by spending a .
Biometric Spoofing is my only defence against damages.
Daily Casts is the mean of my drip economy. A net of 5 each means I need more than one copy of this, which gives me 15 if I could defend it well from the Corp's attempt to .
Human First would be my non-direct economy. Having this resource means that I could gain more when stealing agenda or even when the Corp scores one.
Professional Contacts is also my sustainable click-economy that gives not only but also one cards to draw.
Sacrificial Construct is also the only defence fort against the Corp's the hardwares and programs installed. Sadly it cannot protect Resources.
I got 1 AI, 2 decoders, 1 fracter, and 1 killer. I actually would like to have 2 for each type but I do think these would be sufficient for now becaue I have the Adjusted Matrix to give AI type for one of my icebreakers.
Atman is more preferable than Crypsis because it does not need me to spend a in order to give the power token. However, Atman is not really flexible and its strength is fixed since the first time it is installed. It would not be my cheapest icebreaker, but it would be really useful.
Gordian Blade will be my decoder and to say it is cheap is justified as well.
Mass-Driver is really expensive with the 8 cost and the strength of 1. However, it will prevent the first 3 subroutines on the next ice to fire. This will be useful especially against subroutines that will tag or deal damage to the Runner.
Paperclip is for me a must-have icebreaker of them all. The flexibility of spending to boost its strength and break subroutines is beyond world.
Pipeline is the only sentry I can rely on at least for now. It is cheap, and its boosted strength remains until the end of the run.
I do not have many programs in the deck simply because I still need to keep my deck thin.
Dhegdheer will save 1 when installing programs and icebreakers. This will also save .
Magnum Opus is another sustainable click-economy, quite expensive and take 2.
Self-modifying Code is also a stack finder. Additional 2 is justified as the cost to search the deck in order to get what we need.
This is why I have LLDS Memory Diamond, Ubax and Dhegdheer that give additional 2 and additional space for memory cost.
This is the accounting for the non-sustainable economy, whether it is burst or drip:
Sure Gamble: 3x 4 = 12
Armitage Codebusting: 3x 11 = 33
Daily Casts: 3x 5 = 15
In the best case scenario, the Runner can gain net of 60 only from these economy cards. This is, again, non including the sustainable economy support, such as Professional Contacts and Magnum Opus.
There are quite some free-of-cost cards included in this deck, such as #Diesel, Modded, Sacrificial Construct, and Self-modifying Code. However, the cost to install and to play other Events are quite high. Let's count it.
Special Order: 2x 1 = 2
Adjusted Matrix: 1x 5 = 5
LLDS Memory Diamond: 1x 4 = 4
Rabbit Hole: 3x 2 = 6
Ubax: 1x 5 = 5
Biometric Spoofing: 2x 2 = 4
Human First: 1x 1 = 1
Professional Contacts: 1x 5 = 5
Atman: 1x 3 = 3
Gordian Blade: 1x 4 = 4
Mass-Driver: 1x 8 = 8
Paperclip: 1x 4 = 4
Pipeline: 1x 3 = 3
Dhegdheer: 2x 2 = 4
Magnum Opus: 1x 5 = 5
If everything is setup, the best case scenario, the Runner needs 63 to install and play all of these cards. This does not include when the program/resource/hardware is trashed by the Corp. This is why the Runner needs a strong economy, whether it is burst, drip, and sustainable click, the Runner needs them.
There will be in total 6 available, not including the use of Dhegdheer in the game (+1 from LLDS Memory Diamond, +1 from Ubax).
Hayley Kaplan has no base link, so Rabbit Hole will be really helpful by contributing 3 and from LLDS Memory Diamond makes it 4.
The strategy is to set things up as early as possible. Saving to install the same type of cards by Hayley means the Runner spends less but needs more to install more cards to get ready.
The best first opening hands would include either Special Order, Self-modifying Code, or some other economy cards. When these cards are not there, it would be better to mulligan.
Setup should be done asap before the Corp has the upper hand. Thinning the deck by using Diesel and Rabbit Hole is feasible.
Ubax will help to draw cards without spending 1.
The rest is self explanatory.
Thanks to whoever read it until the end. Recommendation and feedbacks are welcome.

Mass Driver is pretty garbage. There's no reason to have it when you have gordian. There's also no reason to run more than 1 paperclip. If you want, just throw in an Inti or cerberus lady as a backup if you get your paperclip removed from the game, but that should be rare. Human first is not worth the influence. At best, it will only trigger a few times. Maybe twice for the corp, and 3 times for you making it an extremely unreliable sure gamble. paying 1 to get 5. I would go down to 1 atman. There's no reason to have 2 when you can just find it with SMC if you need it that bad. |

Yeah, the cardpool is pretty large, so I don't blame you. :-) Happy to help! It is fine to do Magnum Opus over Clone Chip. I'm always trying to find ways to make each card in my deck do something for me. Sac Con doesn't do anything for you besides protection right now. The trend right now is to use Tapwrm in any deck that uses Sac Con. If they purge, you lose the Sac Con instead. So you gain money while they lose an entire turn. should be a meta call. Do you find that you play against a lot of trace ice? If not, the rabbit holes are just very expensive deck thinners. That said, if you really like the , find a way to make it do more for you! Include 3x Underworld Contact and use Shrike as your killer. Right now, you are very good at challenging remotes, but you don't have much to help you attack R&D or HQ. The easiest way to do this is add in an Equivocation and an HQ Interface. Events like The Maker's Eye, Legwork, or Indexing are good for this as well. If you find after making all these changes that you have leftover influence, I really like On the Lam as a tech card instead of Spoofing. But again, that's only if you have extra influence. |

Hello Mass-Driver, I will keep this in mind. The written skill is still intriguing. I might do a run test because I still think this will be useful although it costs 8. Thanks a lot. What do you think about Pipeline? ====== I never thought about that strategy. I did not see Tapwrm before. I will try having another deck with this combo. For now, I think I will cut Rabbit Hole to thin out my deck and put some other useful cards. I will put more event that is strong enough to put Corp's central server at bay. Thanks a lot. About the On the Lam, to which Resource should this usually be hosted? |

Hmmm...none of your resources right now are permanent, so maybe On the Lam isn't a good choice at the moment. But it's a cool card and something to keep in mind. :-) Also, I think it's worth testing Mass-Driver. I think its ability is really cool. Keeping it at 1x for now seems right. |
Hi there! Are you on a limited card pool? I looks like you're only choosing cards from a few datapacks + the deluxe expansions. If you are, I apologize in advance for suggesting cards you don't have yet!
Both ProCon and MOpus are -intensive, and are both expensive to install. I would choose one of them, put in 3 copies of it, and base the rest of your deck around it. In either case, drop Armitage, as it does something very similar.
Ubax is great, especially if you choose MOpus over ProCon. Go up to 3x to see it early.
Pipeline is very bad. Na'Not'K is better, and GS Shrike M2 works okay too.
SMC is influence-free, so you should go up to 3x of those instead of the Special Order.
You can use Clone Chip instead of Sacrificial Construct to get back SMC or recover from a Trash a Program sub. For tournament play, Clone Chip and MOpus are not allowed to be in the same deck, however.
The Rabbit Holes don't do you much in most matches except thin out your deck. You could put in more draw instead if you want to find things faster. Consider 3x Deuces Wild (or Build Script) as a way of finding things more easily. Also add in the 3rd Diesel.
