Alice wants YOU to play Cube [1-1-1 in Stimhack Cube]

RayS 58

Over the weekend I got to play the Stimhack Cube for the first time! This was only my second time drafting netrunner, and I enjoyed it A LOT more than the FFG draft set. (No shade to FFG draft though. I just wasn’t prepared for how low-power that format was going to be.)

Through the looking glass

After nearly being forced to play a blank ID on the corp side, I made sure to give myself plenty of options as the Runner.

Wu was the first identity I saw not next to some cracked card, so I picked her early. I took Alice and MaxX later as options in case I didn’t find Knickknack,... which I didn’t. I played Alice because I had a couple ways to squeeze extra value out of the archives runs, and I didn’t get any of the Levys

Run from meta to meta and tell them of what you saw here today

Cube is sick, and you should try it out!

I got to,

BABW

I do have a few pleas to the powers that be,

  1. @ NRDB Devs: please let us publish lists that are flagged as “Casual” even if they don’t comply with the standard deck restrictions. I want to put multiple Rebirths in a cube, and include identities in the same exportable format as the rest of the list.

  2. @ the folks with IRL hacking skills: it looks like this site has a feature that lets people host multiplayer drafts of custom MTG sets. Is there a way to make this work with netrunner cards?? (Or maybe another tool already exists? In which case, pls share :D )

Edit: ok wow, so I only just learned that Meteor exists??? I guess I need to figure out how to support the Elevation update...

  1. @ basically everyone: Make a cube of your own and host a draft! Once we finished our matches almost every player in our pod started floating ideas for modifications to the StimCube list, or entirely new concepts. What if you went harder into Stealth? Could you add a couple DJs to make drafting IDs more valuable? What if you only used cards that haven’t won a world championship? These are answerable questions!

Pack it in

Shoutout to @c0ldlava for doing the legwork to assemble the cube. And congrats to [checks notes] also @c0ldlava for winning the pod...

Below are the cards I picked but did not include in the deck. Let me know how you would have built this pool differently!

1 Chromatophores

1 Crescentus

1 Dyson Mem Chip

1 Emergency Shutdown
