πŸ”₯ Steve Hoshiko πŸ”₯

Another pretty standard Hoshiko deck...

πŸƒ Card Choices:

  • 1x DJ Fenris (for Steve)... There are few things that make a PE matchup (which is a known threat these days) more comfortable than adding 3 cards clicklessly per turn to HQ (achieved along with Hoshiko and DreamNet draws). Neutralizing threats via Stargate/Maw is a close 2nd, and 0-influence in Anarch
  • 3x Boomerang... (RIP Boat πŸ›₯️πŸͺ¦). Already a good card and helpful to keep pace with rush corps, Boomerang lets you break in to servers, pressure economy quickly, and discover where to strategically place your Botulus while better mitigating Magnets. Apply them liberally! They tax your clicks more than alternatives, but they're cheap, make Raindrops even more absurd alongside Botulus, and pure πŸ”₯ with Hippo
  • 1x Wake... This one's easy: Good card, and great Maw support
  • 1x Hush... I can't tell you how often I tell myself "I'm going to include Hush this time," but it ends up being card 46-48 and doesn't make the cut. This time I just decided to keep all 48 πŸ˜…. Card 47 was the 3rd DreamNet because the deck was over minimum, and card 46 I couldn't decide on because the deck balance seemed correct which led to 47 & 48. Also, Hush is amazing, and the diversity of issues one can fix is astounding. Steve lets us recur it sometimes too

πŸ† Performance (3-1):

  • R1 - W vs Chris | CryptoGraham's Prana PE
    • Step 1: generate s
    • Step 2: challenge PE's econ, don't get flatlined
    • Step 3: have and determine acceptable losses for Warroid
    • Step 4: don't allow a board state where you could die
    • Step 5: always end your turn at 4+ hand-size, and always have Steelskin plus a lot of cards for the Obo
  • R2 - L vs Marc | Runaway's MAD-Boom Asa
    • Marc Boomed me real quick. Mad Dash could've helped me here!
  • R3 - W vs Roman | Ripred's FA Sportsmetal
    • Lots of anti-rush tech, extra blitz econ, and Wake is crazy good vs Sports
  • R4 - W vs Viktor | BinkBonkle's Outfit
    • What. A. Match! I was ready to ride the bad-pub wave to victory, but the turn after I got my Wake and DJ Steve down, Viktor shut the door quick with Afshar > Bulwark on HQ. Not long after that, I thought I was rushed out 0-4, but then Maw came down and did its dirty work. Eventually, I was able to grind R&D down to just a Mausolus, and had a Botulus on the Bulwark on HQ. With 6 bad pub, running was no longer an issue, and I made quick work excavating the agendas from R&D

❀️ Shoutout to everyone who showed up (and the Vancouver crew for coming down again), to everyone who came just to hang out, and especially to those who helped put this tournament together and run it! And a HUGE shoutout to my caddie, Ember, who champed it out for the first 2 rounds allowing me to play 🚼πŸ”₯πŸ‰.

-------- And finally, to @Whiteblade111, "3 times or it's luck!" πŸ˜‰ --------

I like this list, and 45 cards for a runner deck no longer seems important XD

Or, at least it’s not as important when Runners are strong, and only gives them a bit of flexibility with a lesser dash of less consistency

Good point I hadn't thought of it that way. The corps are polarizing pretty hard to try and have winning matchups where they can find them so runners looking for increased flexibility is really sensible. I hadn't thought about it that way.
