The blue Hippo. Both cards cost 2 and can be removed from the game disable an ice, but Hippo's destruction effect is more permanent and powerful. Capybara somewhat makes up for this with a trigger that is harder for the corp to play around and a lower influence cost (but factions importing Cap will also need some bypass effects).

I wonder what green river mammal will come in the next cycle? Perhaps a platypus?

I would love Platypus or Echidna cards! But they're not Brazilian animals, as far as I know. (gracile) opossums are.

It's also worth mentioning Capybara can be used on any ice you bypass, while Hippo is limited to the outermost ice.

Vandalising ICE? Running without breakers installed, then dropping a Slap Vandal at the last second? This is my kind of Identity! So, what can you use it on?

  • Trojans: the obvious target
  • Emergency Breakers: you trash these after the run, so they are competing with Botulus/Vandal for utility. Perhaps best saved as a late-game tool when the corp thinks you're locked out of a scoring remote.
  • Utility programs:
    • Self-modifying Code: Dig for Hush when you really need it. Pricey, but combined with your ability you can threaten the mid-run install of any program from an empty board.
    • Laser Pointer as D4v1d-Gr43b3r points out is a great 1-off bypass for dangerous ice
    • Cordyceps: One go could be enough to move taxing ice off R&D
    • Nga or Imp: You only get one use out of these, which is probably not worth it
    • Nyashia for surprise multi-access

Make sure you have a full grip and keep the corp in fear of your mid-run installs!

A "green Botulus" - this is an awesome card for early game pressure. Unlike Botulus, you can slap vandal multiple times in one turn, and it's immune to purging. Of course, the downside is that vandal costs real money to use, but at least it's cheaper to install!

Beware Týr!
