Deckbuilding

So, Worlds Standard was over, it was like 11PM. I needed a corp deck and looked at the legal corps for startup.

  • GameNET is too slow and I want action in my games
  • PD is a boring deck to me. #HBSucksPassItOn
  • PE isn't my jam, and without NGO, econ looked problematic.
  • NEH didn't seemed worth it to me.
  • Weyland doesn't seem viable.
  • Prav is a corp I enjoyed a lot during my Circuit Opener so I decided to pick it knowing I would have a fun time no matter what.

In Startup, I can't play Hard-Hitting News, Econ Warfare and BOOM!, so I had 8 slots and 9 inf open. I wanted to have fun, so I snap included 3x Overwriter, and looking at the last 3x inf, I added the Neurospike as a way to kill after a successful Overwriter fire.

There were no testing for startup changes, but I knew how to play Prav so it was OK.

Card Slots

Notable exclude

  • Reversed Accounts : It's a mistake, this card should in 2-3 here.
  • Urtica Cipher: I don't like it can be avoided when they know what you are up to. Drawing to 5-6 before running makes this card sad.
  • Retribution: I don't like this card, it's needed when the corp is able to run the remote, which is what you want to avoid in the first place. I could see it working in a R+ deck with public trails. I would stay away from Drago + Retribution.
  • Vasilisa: I hate this ice, it's so expensive

How to play

  • Jam agendas until they can get in
  • Jam everything you draw until they can't get in anymore
  • Jam for the win

Thanks to NSG and my opponents and especially @Rotage that had to face this deck in swiss and in the cut.

Fantastic write-up. Which deck slot would be replaced by Reversed Accounts?

Your last game on stream was epic. Congratulation on making it to 3rd place. Cheers!

It would probably be another deck but the changes I want to try with are:
+3 Vulnerability Audit
-3 Send a Message
-1 Neurospike
-3 Overwriter
+3 Drafters
-2 Tithe
-1 TollBooth
+2 Reversed Accounts
+2 Vlad Grid

It's definitely less fun, but It's probably a better corp

Enjoying the deck (as a nice change from PD)

Do you have any opinions on Akhet?

I don't like Akhet, I understand the appeal but I think it takes too much time to start giving out value. I'd rather focus on advanceable stuff in the remote to fork the runner as much as possible.

A Drafter has a higher ceiling with plays like: Drafter fire to reinstall Reversed Account and Prav advance it. To stick with Weyland, I would play Masvingo before Akhet because the value is there faster and it can scale indefinitely.

I used the vegan option listed above at Post W22 Montreal meet-up. Drafter really works well with the list and Reversed Accounts is amazing with Prav to hamper the runner for several turns. Vladisibirsk City Grid, with Seamless Launch, makes scoring any agendas pretty easy. Very potent and very regular.

Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
