Is It Better?

Compared to Ichi 1.0, the extra 3 to rez Ichi 2.0 gets you one extra strength, increased trace amount on the final by 2 for a total of trace 3, additionally the runner has less options for breaking since it must always use to break two 's instead of a single for each unlike most Bioroid ice including Ichi 1.0, so yeah you get what you pay for.

Combos

Glacial decks should give Ichi 2.0 a look because of it's high-tax value to the runner

Install for free: Because of the high cost of Heimdall 2.0, other supporting cards that allow it to be installed for free (albiet often with conditions) make it much more attainable (in order of least to most difficult strings attached): Priority Requisition, Shoot the Moon, Mutate, Bioroid Efficiency Research, Oversight AI, Howler, & finally Awakening Center.

Ichi 2.0 is often included in decks with Ichi 1.0 to maximize taxing the runner

Since Ichi 2.0 has no end the run Caprice Nisei could potentially be a good pairing with generally a 66% chance of shutting the runner down if corp has at least 2s

Tyr's Hand: Sticking a surprised runner with any one of the s on Ichi 2.0 could potentially be a game ending event, or at very least put some momentum into the corps favor.

Improved Tracers, again that extra 1 even on traces is not insignificant.

Combined with Haas-Bioroid: Stronger Together puts Ichi 2.0 out of Ninja's 3: +5 strength range forcing the runner spend yet another 3

Pros

More taxing for the runner to break all three s

Strength of 5 makes it very expensive to use many icebreakers to break any of it's . Got a Parasite? Probably have a bit of time

to break s i very taxing to runner

Surprising the runner with insufficient s may result the runner's rig getting trashed in a devastating way, possibly swinging momentum into the corps favor.

Cons

Like other 2.0 Bioroid ice, cost makes using this card riskier.

With it's higher cost, such cards become juicy targets for operations such as: Emergency Shutdown or Forged Activation Orders etc.

Even though it is taxing, runner has lots of options to navigate through this card.

As a Destroyer sub-type Ichi 2.0 is potential target of Sharpshooter

Summary

Unless this card is getting installed with a combo or the deck has some stellar economy, this card will probably be looked over. At three influence cost it's also much less likely to show up in other corp decks. Often decks which feature Ichi 2.0 will only have 1 copy and perhaps 1-2 other heavy hitter ice which cost > than 6 and then feature a suite of cheaper ice for the vast majority of server protection.

That's what I'm talking about. Great review. I guess its worth noting that Stronger Together puts this above Ninja range, but I'm not a professional standup, so. —
Thanks, Lynx Kuroneko, I just added it. —
So does Improved Tracers. Sounds weird, but I actually had success with Viktor 2.0, Ichi 1.0 and Ichi 2.0 in an NBN: Making News Improved Tracers glacier. —
Actually, Improved Tracers is sonething that I want to make work. The tracer bioroids seem like a good fit, especially the upcoming trace for brain damage bioroid. —
Thanks again Krams, I have added your Improved Tracers combo to the review. —
In the current meta, where a lot of D4v1d's are played, you can use (and empty) a D4vid on Ichi 2.0 unlike Ichi 1.0. Using Faust however, takes 6 cards instead of 5. —
Also in the Install for free, you forgot to change the name from Heimdall 2.0 to Ichi 2.0 :-) —

Stronger than your average Bioroid

Compared to Heimdall 1.0, the extra 3 to rez Heimdall 2.0 gets you one extra strength, an extra brain damage added to one of the "end the run" s and Heimdall 2.0 can only have two out of 3 of it's 's. The runner has less options for breaking since it must always use instead of a single like most Bioroid ice including Heimdall 1.0. Eliza's Toybox,

Make some money: Blue Sun: Powering the Future can transform Heimdall 2.0 into a financial combo when used with some of the free-to-rez cards above

Pros

Very difficult for the runner to break all three s

Strength of 7 makes it very expensive to break subroutine. Got a Parasite? Probably have a bit of time

to break s i very taxing to runner

Surprising the runner often results in two bran damage which could swing momentum into the corps favor

Cons

11 rez cost? Ouch

It's two "end the run" are most vulnerable to be broken

Summary

Unless this card is getting installed with a combo or the deck has some stellar economy, this card will probably be looked over. At three influence cost it's also much less likely to show up in other corp decks. Even the Blue Sun: Powering the Future economy combo probably is better paired with Janus 1.0 for the same influence cost but netting 15 rather than the 11 with Heimdall 2.0

Ice isn't "in a server", so the runner can't shoot this with Unregistered S&W '35. —
Didn't even mention the great synergy with Bioroid Efficiency Research. Please don't post reviews if you are going to spread misinformation and not even mention key interactions. —
What is the misinformation? Ice is in a server it's totally target-able by Unregistered S&W if it is a Bioroid. I can add Bioroid Efficiency Research, not a problem. —
Rulebook, page 18: "Installed ice is not in a server and is never accessed." —
Thanks, I've removed reference to Unregistered SW —
Doesn't even read through comments before defending himself... Just please stop. :P —
I sometimes take a beating in the comments, particularly when I make mistakes. Its not fun but I really really appreciate it. I'm only doing this because no review exists for these cards, but rest assured I am committed to correcting any mistakes and adding improvements as they are addressed, my intention is to provide a resource to the community it takes a lot more time and energy to write accurate and helpful reviews which in the end is what I hope we end up with. —
Nice review. Thanks for the info. —

Very similar to Jinteki's Project Junebug in terms of installation Edge of World in terms of payload.

Combos

Trick of Light: As a part of a fast advance strategy if the runner isn't biting this combo will allow those advancement tokens to be moved to an agenda, perhaps even opening a scoring window to score 3/2 agendas such as Project Vitruvius or Accelerated Beta Test out of hand in one turn.

Shipment from Kaguya & Shipment from SanSan could be used to advance Cerebral Overwriter to save s

With enough brain damage flat-line strategies that use cards such as Scorched Earth become more viable.

Jump start Cerebral Overwriter by installing in combo with Mushin No Shin perhaps install with some protective ice to make it suspiciously look like an agenda about to be scored, if the runner bites, corp gets to smile.

Recur Cerebral Overwriter with cards like Archived Memories, Architect an overscored Project Vitruvius etc to give this card even more action.

Pros

Free to rez like other traps

Can open up a flat-line win opportunity

Can tax the runner by enticing him to run on a fools errand

Cons

Corp will need to hold 3 in reserve in case the runner takes the bait in order for it to have any teeth

Must be both installed & advanced to have any potency, does no harm to runner if accesses while in R&D, HQ or archives

0 cost means it'll only surprise the runner once.

Summary

There is nothing new or novel about this card that we haven't seen in other cards. It continues to go along with HB's preference towards brain damage and so it is at home in many HB, Jinteki & even some Weyland decks (sorry NBN this card probably isn't really going to be your thing.) Maybe a bit expensive at two influence points which is why it is often looked over in favor of Aggressive Secretary which for the same costs could wipe out an entire rig for the runner which is often a more sure-fire strategy for discouraging the runner than a little brain damage.

This is a good review, but I think it's worth mentioning the synergy with [Mushin No Shin](/en/card/05015), since it is a very popular combo in Cybernetics Division. —
Interns, Architect, Archived Memories, over-scored Project Vitruvius all mean you can surprise the runner with it more than once. —
Not sure why "Free to rez" is a pro... unless you are purposely using it as a deterrent in conjunction with "upgraded" World's Plaza [spoiled card, can't remember name]. —
Xanatos Gambit decks use it as protection for Shell Corporation. If you suspect or have seen Drive-By, rezzing it will keep the Shell Corporation secure. —
Thanks bubbathegoat and GrantZilla1979, I've updated the review to include your recommendations. —

Bifrost Array: What's nicer than getting 3 agenda counters on to Efficiency Committee? Six of course!

Psychographics with tags on the runner if the runner can actually be used to advance & score agendas with the agenda tokens from Efficiency Committee this is allowed because of the careful wording on Psychographics is specifically says "place" rather than advance.

Shipment from SanSan](/en/card/04034) can help get this card advanced more efficiently especially with an extra from a previously scored Efficiency Committee.

Other uses: The extra from Efficiency Committee agenda counters can of course be very flexible and allow the corp to pursue additional economy, install additional ICE, draw additional cards, purge virus tokens... if spent all at once, one turn could have 9 s (3 's spent on the agenda counters themselves then 6 usable s leftover!)

Pros

3 Very powerful agenda counters, creating six 's the runner can use in many useful ways

2 Agenda points are not too shabby

Can seriously swing tempo/momentum into the corps favor

Cons

Agenda counters s cannot be used directly to advance agendas

As a 4/2 Agenda, the 4 advancement cost makes it harder to score compared to Accelerated Beta Test or Project Vitruvius

Summary

I'm honestly surprised that this little card had no reviews on this site. It has significant power for HB fast-advance decks. In many deck-lists only 1-2 copies of this card are used and that seems about right.

--It just saddens me when I see cards with no reviews. If you appreciated this review, please give a heart and I'll be encouraged to write more.

You can't use Trick of Light on this card since it receives Agenda counters, but Trick of Light moves Advancement counters, but cards Trick of Light and Shipment from San San can be used with this card to advance agendas while using the Efficiency Committee clicks. While I agree with you that this card is powerful, at the end of the day, a 4-2 is about as easy to score as a 5-3, but still has all the deck building disadvantages of 2-point agendas. —
I don't understand the reference to Psychographics. The influence cost makes importing Psycho/Midseasons to HB prohibitive outside Custom Biotics, and if you do that, what do you need Efficency Comitte for? The real combo is with Shipment from SanSan. —
Thanks bubbathegoat, I have removed the reference to trick of light. RS14, I have removed mention of midseason replacements and put in shipment from sansan. Basically was going for the combo mentioned by db0 in http://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/28117/engineered-for-success-v3-1 but I see your point about heavy influence cost —

Unconventional

While functionally similar to the Corp ID Cerebral Imaging: Infinite Frontiers, Theophilius Bagbiter does actually have some combos that could make it a force to be reckoned with.

Combos

Hardware

Ekomind with nearly unlimited Deck-size can allow the runner to install an epic suite of programs, later when the runner is flush with cash & cards, install Overmind and the corp might as well hand the keys over to the runner.

Box-E could potentially provide take the sting out of spending credits on a big push.

Clone Chip would be useful to recur programs that Theophilius Bagbiter may have forced the runner to trash.

Ohter honorable mentions are Brain Cage, Brain Chip, Logos

Programs

Faust is a truly unconventional ice-breaker that has a natural fit with Theophilius Bagbiter, what else are you going to do with all those useless cards anyway?

Origami for a maximum of 9 additional hand size at no cost to install (if all three copies of Origami are installed).

Events

Game Day for only 2 and 1 , this card in combo with Theophilius Bagbiter will allow the runner to quickly fill up his hand, would be really helpful to do once the runner has seen a windfall from the likes of Bank Job etc.

Hostage, got your economy setup and need to get Theophilius Bagbiter installed, this card could help you tutor it.

Resources Beach Party, Borrowed Satellite, Public Sympathy, Safety First all interact with runner hand size in meaningful ways that may prove useful to a Theophilius Bagbiter based strategy.

Fall Guy certainly would be helpful to protect Theophilius Bagbiter in case the corp is able to tag the runner.

Duggar's provides another opportunity to quickly fill the runners hand provided the runner has 10+ .

Pros

Massive grip size potentially makes flat-line due ot corp operations such as Scorched Earth nearly impossible to pull off.

Massive grip size provides tremendous strategic flexibility.

Runners will need to carry a large balance by necessity, this can be used at any opportune time for one big game ending push.

Cons

Credit loss when Theophilius Bagbiter is installed is similar to suffering Closed Accounts, requiring the runner to carefully time installation to mitigate this negative

Financial discipline is required to make a strategy based on this card word as economy will be tied up through much of the game

As a resource Theophilius Bagbiter is vulnerable to being trashed if a runner is tagged, this could be quite painful if the runner has a very large hand-size.

Summary

There are have been some very successful decks based on Theophilius Bagbiter however it is not for the feint at heart. Specific combo cards cannot be neglected and at 4 influence points an all-in commitment is required when used out of faction.

3 Origamis installed actually gives you +9 hand size! —
Thanks Vaslav good catch, I've updated the review accordingly. —
No love for using Sage? —
Brilliant review. I've been looking at ways to use Theo, and this review provies so many options. Thanks! —
